Purchased these boots wanting a non-slip grip with Vibram rubber for hiking at Lake Tahoe. I previously wore a Columbia hiking boot that was very comfortable, but their Omni-grip proves to not have very good traction. I have high arches so I typically put in an insert for added support. I was nervous when I received the Vasque boots as when I had my inserts in, they did not feel good at all. My husband suggested trying without the inserts and to MY SURPRISE, these Vasque boots have WONDERFUL arch support all on their own! I have a narrow heel as well, and these boots fit great! Not even really giving them a chance to break in (wore them in the house while making dinner); we were off to Tahoe and we hiked 23 miles in three days in ALL different terrain and these boots were awesome! Never a blister, sore spot, NOTHING. Very happy with this purchase! I typically wear a size 8, and I ordered a size 8-1/2 after reading reviews. I do think I could of went with a size 8; but I don't mind an 8-1/2 as I can wear thicker socks for winter hiking. I'm a happy hiker! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. LOVE these boots! They do run a bit narrow as per all the reviews. I normally wear a size 8. I bought a 8.5 wide. They were a little snug getting on and I used a shoe horn. I was not expecting them to fit, but was surprised after getting them on and standing up at just how well and comfortable they did fit. I walked 3 miles today in them and they felt fantastic! I would definitely buy these again. I like the tan color with blue highlights as well. Very nice boots! 👍🏻 ... show more

The boots are comfortable but the color is not the same as the pictures. It is a darker brown and not the tan color I expected. I wear a 6.5 but ordered a 7 and there’s room for thick socks. My feet are also narrow. Will return solely on the color.

I purchased this same boot several times in the past few years. I used to buy a size 6.5, until this last year, based on my feet changing and possibly a change to the boot fit. They have always run narrow in the heel and arch, and appear to maintain these features. I now order a size 7.5 for roominess in the toe box area. You might want to order these a half a size larger if you plan on wearing heavy socks for activities. These are a light boot for trail/hiking activities, and not for serious backpacking. They are light and sturdy, have great traction, and will last. There are no mesh vents since they are ultra-dry, and have a tendency to be very warm in the summer months. I love the thick, soft padding on the inside and top of the tongue, and all around the ankle support! You never have to worry about sore ankles when hiking for several hours! Like any good boot, they will need breaking in, but not for long. I plan on buying another pair or maybe two! ... show more

Very disappointed in these. I have tried to get used to them, all weights of socks, all sorts of different lacing options but I strongly dislike these boots. I am bummed b/c I thought I was partial to Vasque but now I am going to have to finally break down and go buy something else. These create a lot of "hot spots' especially in the toe box. The are not comfortable and nothing like the Vasques I was replacing which I loved from day one. I compared carefully to try to get as close to the ones I was replacing but something about the way these are angled, they take the joy out of hiking and keep my feet in pain. My first pair of Vasques lasted 10 years of hard use. This is my second, and I expect they'll last as long. They're stylish, well-made with great detailing, sturdy all-season boots. Traction is great, even on ice (But not slip/oil resistant), and especially in fall-winter environments. Breaking the boots in took a few days, but even brand new, they fit well, and are lighter weight than earlier models with a good balance between breathability and warmth. So comfortable! I bought this as my old pair finally gave out. Had a hiking trip coming up so wore them around to break them in and they never needed it! Update 1 year later: I love these boots. I wore tennis shoes on an easy hike the other day and couldn’t believe the difference. The Vasque hold me upright and rooted so I only need to pay standing to where I step. They hold my core. Amazing. And didn’t take that long to break in. Btw - I stepped in the biggest area of black muck that covered up the sides of the boots. By the time I got back to my car my boots were clean and there was nothing stuck in the waffle bottom - how dirt and clay never stick in the waffles is beyond me, but no clean up... ever. I'm still trying to break these in. An 8 in anything always gives me plenty of room. I wore these around the house and was hesitant about size. I've been told by so many people this brand takes a while to break in. I'm so hoping this is the case. I've walked about 30 miles in my neighborhood and there are parts of my bottom foot that start to go numb. Otherwise - great boot. My bad for thinking they would stretch out more ... show more
