Synopsis: An amazing bench that is sturdy, looks good, and fits your need doubling as storage. Everything you could want. Was looking for a bench that could double as some extra shoe storage for my garage. Didn't want it to take up too much space, but also needed to know that it would be sturdy enough to hold people sitting on it to put shoes on. Ended up settling on this one after some browsing of options and I am glad I did. This bench/storage combo is absolutely awesome. The construction is solid, the bench feels sturdy, and it looks darn good. For me it checked off all the boxes I could have wanted for a bench with storage and more. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, but you will need your own power drill or screw drivers. It took me about 12 minutes putting it together by myself. Very nice storage bench! We're redecorating our entryway and wanted a nicer storage option than your typical shoe rack. This is exactly what I'd hoped for! It is sturdy enough to withstand my husband and I to sit on it. It's big enough to accommodate shoes for our family of 5. It was easy to assemble- taking me only 20 min from start to finish. You do need a power drill, this would probably take forever with a manual screw driver. The instructions were easy to understand and all the parts, including hardware were clearly labeled. (See pics) Two tips for assembly- Firstly, Be mindful when assembling to keep all the stickers labeling the pieces facing the same direction (it doesn't matter which direction, as long as you remain consistent with it) Be sure to screw the backing to the side with all the stickers so you don't need to bother with peeling them off. Secondly, use your fingers to manually twist in screws to get them started and properly aligned. Do this in pairs for each section then drill them in, section by section. If you don't, you'll almost certainly mess up the alignment and potentially crack a piece bc several of the pre-drilled holes require pressure to be applied to line them up, especially the last ones. This is an intentional design and adds to the stability of the center shelves of the bench, the last 2 holes required a great deal of pressure to line them up so having an extra set of hands would def be helpful for that part but I was able to do it by myself. They drilled the insertion points of the pre-drilled holes slightly bigger so you can easily see through it to determine when the holes are lined up. They added velcro to the bottom of the cushion to keep it in place which I thought was nice having young kids. ... show more

I am pleased with our new Vasagle Cubbie Shoe Cabinet. It’s just the right size for our laundry room (previous cabinets have overpowered the room) I was able to assemble almost all of the cabinet myself, which was great! My husband only had to help me with the back. One small problem with assembling the back-the back is 3 pieces that have to be held in place while I was attaching the small, sharp screws-but, there weren’t any markings or the start of pre-drilled holes. So, we had to hold them in place, while trying to center each screw, because you have 1 chance to get them in the MIDDLE of the framing which isn’t very wide. We got it done, though. When I first began assembling this product, I was pretty apprehensive about the quality of the parts, & also was afraid it would not be sturdy. I was very pleased that once I got to the pieces of the outer frame where everything required solid screws, I could tell it was sturdy enough for its purpose. You will need a power drill in a few places, which is not mentioned in the product description. The padded top cushion is VERY thin (1 1/2 inches thick at the most). The material looks ok and blends nicely with the remodeling with grays we have done, but it is a low quality material. I’m looking for a thicker pad & nicer material, but this will do for now.
