This table looks like pictures and is very sturdy. My only complaint is the directions could be a little clearer since there’s certain pieces that need to be oriented a certain way and it doesn’t make it clear thus the assembly took time.

I've assembled several pieces of this type of furniture, and it took me several hours across two days (with some help) to get this coffee table assembled properly. This table, more than any other furniture I've assembled, requires that you pay very close attention to the orientation of the pieces and the specific hardware you have to use on each step. If you mess up any of the previous steps you will have to go back and redo it correctly or you cannot get it put together. The instructions were in very small print and had specific measurements and positioning that you needed to consider but were not always as clearly marked as I would have preferred. However, after the ordeal of assembling it was completed, the table itself was excellent. It is made very well for this type of furniture. There were no scratches or chips or bent parts. Everything was in good condition and the parts themselves were labeled clearly. The assembled table feels very sturdy even when the top is raised up. Both drawers slide in and out smoothly and fit well without any gaps that cause shifting. There are two drawers and some "hidden" storage compartments under the lid which is great for storing charge cables since the table has a built-in power outlet. I would definitely recommend this table but only if you are very good at assembling furniture or have someone to help that is. ... show more

This was a challenging one to put together. The instructions were actually very good, and all the pieces and parts were there - plus a bag of spare screws and parts in the event you lose or misplace some of the smaller screws. It took me a solid four hours to get this together. Again, the instructions weee good, but you really need to look closely at the details to make sure the pieces are facing the right way. There were a couple instances where I needed to undo everything I did and turn a piece around. The plug doesn’t make a lot of sense. You’re going to have a thick chord running from your coffee table to the wall, resulting in a possible tripping hazard or an attractive nuance for a chord-chewing pet. Or, I guess you have a potential shock hazard if you have small kids crawling around. I may wind up removing it. But the top pops up well and remains solidly in place, so it’s perfect for meal’s, snacks, or working on the computer. There are sharp corners on this, so if you have kids, you would be wise to invest in some comer covers. Overall, very useful, but deducted one star for the unusual plug. Lift Top coffee tables are great pieces of furniture for any home especially small apartments as it provides extra storage space while being a table as well. So I really like the grey wood finish on this one with the black metal frame and handles. Assembling this table was more work than expected as it has so many pieces and the positions had to be exact. Instructions were decent and understandable. I like that is has a power strip at the base for convenience. I like the color , look and the outlets . The only two issues I see are how hard it is to open and close . The quality of the materials isn't the greatest. Feels very light weight. The drawers are nice in the front ...the corners are sharp if you're worried about small kids.

It's extremely sturdy, looks gorgeous and can hold a significant amount of stuff in storage making it perfect for any living area. Assembly took some time (roughly 3 hours, there are a lot of pieces!) but it was pretty straightforward and nothing that someone who hasn't built similar furniture items would have any trouble with. The only complaint I have about the build/quality of the table is that the rubber stopper in the top section of the table tore as I was screwing it in meaning that the top section doesn't have any padding and comes down a little hard. That said, I have the coffee table pushed up against a wall which means that the top section can't open anyway, so it's not such a big deal for me since it stays closed. There is a ton of storage space inside this table which makes it great for anyone who enjoys crafts or is looking to get a little bit more out of their living spaces without adding more shelves or drawers. The table is relatively light but weighs a little more than it looks, so keep that in mind as you build it. You might want to assemble it inside the room that it'll be staying in. My wife did not want a coffee table in the living room. She preferred the open/clean look. After I assembled this table, she was very pleased and changed her mind. This table did take a long time to assemble the many parts, but it was not difficult with the included instructions. Take your time and pay close attention to all details including illustrations.
