This backdrop is advertised for baseball and softball, but I recognized it right away as a possible arrow stop for shooting blank bale in my garage. I hang it from the rafters right behind my target bag so a possible miss doesn't punch a hole in the garage door. Did you know that most garage door panels are just thinly clad styrofoam? Most garage doors have a metal or vinyl sheet on the exterior, but the interior surface is likely a cheaper plastic which has grown brittle over time and exposure to the elements. A stray arrow could go straight through. This rubber coated nylon backstop is a great insurance policy against that repair bill. It's heavy enough that when hanging freely it absorbs the kinetic energy so it stops the arrow short of what's behind. Arrows from my daughter's 18 lb bow barely penetrate, and arrows from my 36 lb bow are stopped a few inches in - neither can pass all the way through.

The media could not be loaded. The product is not as thick as I imagined. I paid too much for this piece of thin rubber. In the garage we hung it from the pre made metal grommets to the ceiling, about 5” away from our padded wall. The rubber backstop is doing the job we intended it for. We have this up for a month and it’s been holding up well. See attached video. I would buy this again, but maybe not at this price. There are similar products out there.

This backstop is heavy and must also absorb external shocks. Bolt the top edge between two narrow boards to eliminate point loads. Bolt through every eyelet and tighten securely with locknuts, then hang backstop by the board. That source of wear will then be eliminated. Cover board with foam or pipe insulation to lessen chance of ricochet balls. This or similar hanging methods will greatly increase longevity.

In 6 months of using the gold rings tore out of the rubber. I had to use some 1x4 lumber on both sides with glue and screws so that I could hang it again. IT just won't hold up with the current design.
