Here are my thoughts: Adhesiveness of the cover: - I had seen some people say in the reviews not to take the adhesive tape cover off to reveal the adhesive side to the case unless it's necessary. I tried that, and I within a week the top of my case was coming off. But ever since I peeled the adhesive cover and actually stuck the case to the lid of my airpod case, I have not felt flimsiness since. Durability: - I wanted a case that would not only protect the cover of my case but prevent the airpods from falling out because I am CLUMSY. This case has dropped several times and not a single time has this case opened. - The case itself is very hardy and though it's fallen on concrete several times now, I don't see any scratches on the borders of the case where it made contact with the ground. Easiness to open the case: - Can you open this case with one hand? Yes, but it's definitely not as easy as a case without a lock. I usually end up opening this case with two hands. Good lanyard: - Comes with a good wristlet Sound: - You can hear the "find my device" sounds through this case Overall: a good buy Edit: A little over two years later, I can still say no complaints. If you have to change the case it’s doable and doesn’t require extra tools (in my case at least)! Just be a bit careful taking the top off the cap if you’ve put the adhesive. I bought them again because I got new AirPods and I got the black and green this time. Only thing I have to say is the green color is more dull than advertised. overall: THIS IS A GREAT BUY!!!!

Despite the lid not being attached to the body, because the locking mechanism, the lid both stays securely closed and is unlikely to fall off. So many other cases I’ve had in the past, when the lid portion isn’t attached, it will eventually fall off and gets lost. The last case I had worked great for over a year and I loved that it’s lid was attached because it never got lost. However one day, when I accidentally brushed up against my car, the lid held strong to the body of the case so instead of falling off, it forced my AirPods case open and my air pods fell out. It was then that I decided I needed a case that had some sort of locking mechanism. I was very skeptical of this case for its lid not being attached but the locking latch holds it snug in place. The case itself is very solid yet also flexes as the corners to absorb shock. While the case’s design is not cute and it lacks personality, it serves its purpose and that’s the most important thing to me. So far, so good. I hope this keeps up.

This is my 2nd case from this company. My 1st one is still going strong on my AirPods Pro (1st gen). I use my AirPods Pro often. Like all the time: frequently for 5-7 hours of meetings and entertainment. Obviously I want to protect my expensive (but worth it) investment - and I'm super happy with this case. Yes, it adds a little "heft" to the case. It's no longer "slip in/slip out" of my pocket, which is both a good and bad thing. Personally, I like absolutely KNOW they are in my pocket. It's not uncomfortable. I love having a latch (other cases I tried and returned didn't keep the lid closed; I came close to losing an AirPod) - this latch is great. It's recessed, so you won't accidentally open it. My only "complaint" (and it's minor) is that the green color is a bit darker than it looks in the photos. In low lighting the whole thing looks almost black. But I would buy this case again in a heartbeat. Pro tip: it has a strip of double-sided tape already installed in the lid. The fit is so snug, you won't need the tape (at first). My other case was the same. I suggest leaving the backing on the tape until down the road if you need it then. The fit is so snug that I may never have to peel the tape off.

I’ve gone through a number of the soft silicone cases for my AirPods and was stubbornly holding out on them because I liked the look and feel a lot better. But of course my AirPods always fell out of the case, and any double sided tape I used never stuck to the silicone (I wasn’t ever hopeful with that since silicone is notorious for being nonstick, ie silicone baking mats). But when I was getting on the train and the AirPods charging case almost dropped onto the tracks I knew I had to switch. (One of the AirPods was literally millimeters from the edge of the track, I almost lost my mind.) I wasn’t particularly excited about this case because I don’t like the “military” style look or heavy hard cases, but figured I’d have to make a compromise or else risk dropping my AirPods onto the train tracks for sure next time. The case is a little heavier than the silicone cases but it also gives it a secure feeling. The case fits snuggly on the AirPods and doesn’t budge easily. Compared to how easily I slid the AirPods out of the silicone cover to transfer them I feel confident they won’t accidentally fly out of this one. There’s adhesive inside the top portion of the case but that part also fits snuggly as well. I was worried about a two piece case cause I thought the top would always fly off, but I don’t feel worried about this one. The locking part I had mixed feelings about upon purchase. A con about silicone cases is, in my experience, the top always opens up and risks the AirPods themselves falling out. So I thought the lock was a good concept, although I was worried it would be a burdensome extra step. I think it will be a little superficially annoying, but the lock is secure yet not hard to open. I have long nails so undoing the lock can be hard, but such is life with long nails (what isn’t hard to do?). You don’t actually need to press the button too hard or deep to get it to open though, and it can be done with the side of the finger tip or your knuckle if you have to. As much as I’m not super thrilled about the look (which I knew going in, and the aesthetic is maybe not meant for my demographic), I feel a lot less anxiety about losing my expensive earbuds. I say the silicone case fans should make the switch, it’s worth the compromise for the security. The solid black one isn’t THAT terrible to look at! Haha. It’s also matte so if you need to beautify it I bet you can add little stickers. Plus the price is great for what you’re getting! Go for it. If you hate it, Amazon is great about returns.
