The waterproof layer inside seems to do its job. Mine came in funky packaged so the upper edge is deformed and not a circle, even after a few attempts at adjusting. I wish the sides were sturdier or more rigid to help it stay upright some more.

Seems sturdy enough for what I need it for; storing my kids dirty clothes. It's collapsible but can also stay standing on its own. I threw a shirt toward this hamper and missed, with the shirt landing on the side of the hamper. It collapsed a little to the side. So it will stay standing as long as clothes are placed directly inside of it. Even after being full then emptied out it stays standing. It has a canvas-like feel to it (a little on the 'plasticky' side though cause it makes a crinkle sound) and the colors were as pictured. ... show more
