I was nervous about this purchase because there were only like three reviews. Let me tell you, this thing ain't so bad!! It's definitely not high quality handmade solid wood furniture, but it's durable enough to withstand the brutality of my 7 and 3 year old. It arrived very quickly THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL FOLKS AT THE USPS in great condition. There are a zillion little parts and pieces but they all add to the integrity of the bookshelf. It looks like a complicated build but it totally isn't. Took me about an hour during my virtual happy hour. It holds a ton of books. Normal books. Paper and hardback. Board books are a different story. We keep most of those in the drawer but eventually we'll phase those out cuz the youngest is turning 4 soon. Speaking of the drawer, it's not attached. It will pull all the way out. If you buy this for children it may turn into a toy. Again, not fine furniture!! I'm installing a stop bar so the drawer can't come out anymore. Don't want the kids to break it. All in all I consider this a good buy. The white coating is gonna get scratched up. It got a little scratched as I was putting it together on the hardwood floor. But at the end of the day the hole thing is gonna get covered in boogers and stickers and nail polish so who really cares?? Price is fine but I obviously wanted cheaper lol ... show more

This sturdy cabinet is petite and great for my current issues of magazines as well as craft storage. It was a little tricky to put together so I suggest a second person to help and just pay attention to detail in the instruction guide. I love it!

I was nervous after reading other reviews. This turned out to be the perfect buy for our nursery and the perfect size. It is smaller (kid sized) so if you’re using for other purposes I would be hesitant. It was very easy to assemble although you will need a screw driver and gun. The bottom drawer is completely unattached which doesn’t bother us— it is deep and fits extra items. Good storage ... show more

This bookshelf is amazing! It holds so many pics even the larger multi story books. I assembled it mostly on my own the only time it really took two people were the final few steps assembling the staircase style book area. Super easy to assemble. Sturdy and durable.

My daughter loves it. I love it. I love how organized her books look. I had someone else built it for me. It’s not that sturdy but I love it. It’s functional for our bedroom :)

I love this! I was organizing my daughters room and needed something to put her dress up clothes in and books. This is perfect. It fits lots of books and we use the drawer for all her dress up clothes. We put two bins in the middle with a variety of toys. I found it relatively easy to put together. However, it is a bit awkward to put together because as you’re building it, it’s sometimes hard to understand which part you’re building. I built it by myself in about 2 hours. I’m 8 months pregnant and put this together by myself in about 1 1/2. Really not as difficult as people made it out to be in the other reviews. Almost discouraged me from purchasing. But really glad I did. Came out great!

    • Terrible quality for the price
Unfortunately like others have said, the cheap material broke while I was assembling. After emailing Utex a couple times, they wrote me back and I had to send pictures of the broken boards and tell them which parts needed replacing.. not sure why cause they sent me an entire new one. I finished assembling it but I’m nervous about the stability and the bottom drawer is useless. It doesn’t attach to the rest of the bookcase and is annoying to pull out. I can’t believe how much it cost and wish I never bought it in the first place :( ... show more
