First off, if this was bad, I would say so. I'm not a shill for the company since I got this free. But all these people who left reviews saying it does not work good are using it wrong. If you use t correctly, it will give fantastic results. Just look at my screen shot photos. The camera itself is fairly well constructed. I like you can adjust the led light brightness from the control box. The control box also has a button to snap a photo. I just wish the cord was a longer since I am mostly using this on my computer. Focusing works good, but you have to take your time to get that perfect focus point. Once you get your focus it gives excellent results and is very easy to use. In my one series of photos, you can see I have a quarter coin (I took that photo with my cell phone). Then I use the magnifier camera and it show the words in god we trust. Then I zoomed in the camera and have just the letters "we" from in god we trust. Take a look with your own eyes at my screen shots and tell me this is not a really good magnifier camera! These people who say their cell phones work as good as this camera are lying on purpose (which I do not think they are doing) or just did not use the camera correctly and got poor results. IN ORDER TO GET MAXIMUM ZOOM, YOU MUST REMOVE THE CAMERA FROM THE STAND AND PLACE THE CAMERA DIRECTLY ON TOP OF YOUR SUBJECT! That is how this is designed to work. All of my Amazon review photos are straight from the camera and using the computer app from the company (instructions tell you how to download the app). I did not make any changes or modify the images from the screen shots. Just use the camera correctly and you will get excellent results. Overall, I am very happy with this camera!

This little USB microscope is honestly way better than I thought it would be for the price. Setup was pretty easy, I just downloaded the app that the manual recommended and connected it to my phone using the USB-C connector. The microscope is built well, being made out of a sturdy feeling plastic. I especially like the inclusion of a lens cap for when you're not using the microscope. The included stand is small, yet pretty sturdy. The camera quality was very clear, and the app even allowed you to take pictures and videos. I recently used the microscope to check the legitimacy of a piece of Pandora jewelry I bought secondhand. Genuine Pandora jewelry has tiny etchings on the inside, and using this microscope I was able to find and identify these etchings. It was very easy and effective, and now I can say for sure that I have a legitimate piece of Pandora jewelry. Great microscope for the price. Highly recommend!

I guess for $30 to have a ring light around a 1080 camera lens that can focus a little more than my iPhone is cool. But the perspective of size of this thing is a little misleading in the product images. In their photo, it's half the size of the laptop it's next to. Look how small it is next to my laptop. In my photo, those are pennies, in their photo, its some really tiny currency who knows from where. But, it does appear to focus at the edge of the clear guard just fine, and adjusts well. What kind of zoom level is it? WHO KNOWS? It's not stated, and that itself makes it not really a real thing. I found a listing for the same looking item from another seller, and they say 50-1000x, but that makes no sense either, it would depend on the distance and how big of a screen you are looking at. Overall, I'd say this is a good toy for kids to play with. A mediocre device for a useful microscope.
