I was very excited when I received the adapter, since I read so many positive reviews about the adapter. I want to be able to transfer files directly to my iPad without worrying about online storage. Imagine my disappointment when I plugged in the adapter and my lighting cable and realized it doesn’t even charge! Same thing with my usb. This is supposed to be just “plug and play”, and my iPad has been updated to the latest version. Then I realized that the adapter is probably defective. As no matter how I try, the adapter still doesn’t work. Try to contact the seller to ask for a replacement, and they gave me so many troubleshooting instructions and made me feel like I am a novice and have no idea what I’m doing. This adapter is supposedly “plug and play.” It’s not a complicated device, it either works when plugged in or not. It doesn’t even charge, which means it’s defective. I’m already frustrated. And they’re giving me many hoops to jump through instead of just sending me a replacement is not helping. I’m returning the item and will buy a new adapter somewhere else. ... show more

Used this adapter to connect my iPad Pro Gen 2 to a Yamaha P125 digital piano. The SmartPianist app provided by Yamaha running on the iPad can be used to control the piano. I used a USB-B to USB-A cable to connect the piano to the USB-A port on this adapter. Worked perfectly!!

I bought this to test the keyboard function for Garageband on iPhone 5S. Yes. It is 2021 and I am turning my iPhone 5S into Music workstation~. Attached to Korg Kontrol49, your iPhone will power the keyboard and play native instruments in Garageband. That is super cool~. It will drain your battery very quick. I do recommend attaching power source to it. Supposedly, you can attach whole bunch of stuff to your iPhone, which is not well published by Apple. I don't understand, why... One thing that does not work. You cannot daisy chain multiple thunderbolt adapters like HDMI adapter and USB adapter. ... show more

I bought this because I wanted to use a professional microphone through my phone while using the app, Smule! It was about time I tried my hand at a more studio like sound! The item works perfectly in attachment to my iPhone 6S because of the lightning port! It also charges my phone while it is plugged in. Super useful for multiple ways! Some people get this so you may attach a camera (with the USB port) and transport photos. I haven't tried it myself but I'm sure that works! For sure, I will have that option in the future with this little guy! It's durable and well-made so, it looks like it will last. For those of you buying this item for the same reason I did (with Smule, I mean), be aware that you will need to use a microphone that you can plug your earbuds into. If you try plugging in earbuds to your phone, like how you do normally with Smule, while your mic is plugged in using this adapter, you will not be able to hear the song in your ears. Yes, you can still sing with said microphone you bought, but you will not hear the song you're singing. My microphone has a plug in port for earbuds to which I used whilst singing on Smule and I can both hear my voice in the microphone and the song from Smule. Keep that in mind!     • It doesn’t work and it overheats; DO NOT BUY!!
It didn’t work. It plugged in correctly showing the green battery with the lightning bolt icon at 21%, but was not charging; instead, the battery was depleting and went to 20% into low power mode, kept it on longer to see if it would jump back up, instead went down to 19%, then down to 18%. Although, the USB did work, but the adapter itself was incredibly hot when I unplugged it from my iPad. I highly DO NOT recommend. ... show more
