Im sure it would have worked great for someone else. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I have a MBP 2018 and LG Ultrafine 5k monitor. My work laptop is an HP Elitebook 840 G6. The original Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with the monitor works perfect with my MBP. Connects right away. I needed something similar to work for my work laptop on the same monitor. Since the USBC outlet on the HP Laptop is only 2.0 for standard charge, I thought the original Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with the monitor would not work. So I was searching high and low for USBC 3.1 going from the monitor into HDMI on the laptop. This cable was suppose to be it and worked for me. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. This is due to the fact that the USBC 3.1 is NOT the same as a Thuderbolt 3. It wasn't until I consulted with an Apple Specialist that they told me I needed Thunderbole 3 to make it work with the HP laptop and my LG monitor. They told me to look for anything with a thunderbolt symbol on it. That's how you tell. Coming back onto this product, it simply did not work for me because it did not have the capacity. So, I ended up getting it to work when I randomly (not sure why I did not do it earlier and eliminate the hassle for myself) plug in the original cable from the monitor, the Thunderbolt 3, into the USBC outlet on my HP Laptop that it worked. Not sure how it works when the USBC outlet is only a 2.0, but I guess Thunderbolt 3 did the trick. ... show more

Not sure if it was the cable or my device, but the image was cutting out periodically. I read in a few other reviews that is was an issue but took the risk. Overall it works well.

Bought this for my razor phone 2 to try and get type c to hdmi 1440p 120hrz but for some reason when i plugged this into my phone the signal sent out is capped to 4K 60hrz somehow because my phone screen cant even do this source natively but i check my gameing monitor and put it in my capture card after to confirm the out and yep says 4K 60fps makes no since to me and with android i cant find a way anywhere to change an adapters output at all online so i just think no adapter out that can do this sadly so i had to send this back i would have kept it if it had power input to charge my phone aswell but this one did give me the best picture out to my gameing monitor I've tried yet if that means anything to anyone good luck. ... show more

Does the job whereas this cable I used before: JSAUX USB C to HDMI Cable 3.3ft/1M, (4K@60Hz) Type-C to HDMI Cord https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087NN573G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details The issue with the JSAUX cable was: Connecting Motorola edge plus phone through “ready for” - desktop from phone to KYY 4k monitor. But after an hour or with many windows it will blackout, requiring me to pull the usb cable out of the phone and back in. Although I can get the cable creation cable to blackout rarely (more than an hour if at all), with many simultaneous windows open and videos, but, this cable will do what I call an “auto reset” and restore video output automatically. Which is critical for functionality! So this cable beats Jsaux cable in my particular configuration ... show more
