I have purchased numerous UNI products and all of them have been flawless, so when I found this USBc-to-HDMI at $5 lower than the other one, I clicked on ‘buy now’. I found out later that it supports 4K at 30Hz, not 60Hz. However, it’s not a problem at all. There isn’t much 4K contents out there and many 1080P panels are still working just fine, so why not save the $5? I do notice that the material is not as ‘fancy’ as the new accessories (see picture), but not a big deal. Big bonus: There is a reassuring white LED light one one side of the USBc connector that would glow when it’s securely connected. Nice touch. ... show more

    • Could not drive a 4k monitor @ 60Hz from an M1 Mac Mini

No matter what I tried, this cable would not drive at full 4K at 60Hz (but 30Hz) from a new M1 Mac Mini. The same monitor (an LG) would work at 60 HZ via the HDMI port. I'm using it to power my second 1080p monitor at 144hz, so it's useful but beware if you're getting for a new M1. EDIT: apparently I didn't read the description carefully enough, it definitely says it is limited to 30Hz at 4K. :-/ ... show more

I have an "old" version of this cable, with a very long HDMI connector that is overheating. When I saw the "2020 New Updated" version with a different design and a smaller connector I thought: awesome, they finally solved the issue of overheating, and they created a better version of this cable! No. Not really. Not at all. The "new" version only supports 4K in 30 Hz, and it doesn't work properly with my KVM, whereas the "old" version supports 60 Hz and works just fine. I lost my last USB-C to HDMI cable from uni so I ordered this one to replace it. I chose this 4k@30fps cable over the 4k@60fps cable because the HDMI connector on this one is shorter and fits in smaller spaces. This one can still run a 1080p display at at least 75fps. This is one of the most useful cables I have, I like to have one to travel with to hook up phones and laptops to TVs and monitors. I have used this cable with my HP Spectre x360, my MSI Stealth Thin, my Galaxy S9, my sister's Mac, and my dad's Dell laptop. I had my last uni cable for over 3 years before I lost it, and it had never failed me. I trust this brand to deliver high quality cables. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the indicator light, but it is easy enough to turn over the cable so the light is hidden. ... show more

I needed this to port video output from my 2019 iMac to a 43" 7300 series LG TV. I have to admit the end result is pretty impressive. I just wanted to occasionally use the iMac to send entertainment content to the 4K television. Darn if this cable is passing enough signal to put a crisp image on the 43" television. I'd have to be extremely picky to complain. It remains to be seen if I have any dropouts, but if that happens, I will update this. Coming from a very experienced (25 years) consumer electronics and computer technology buyer/seller/trainer, this looks damn good. While I'd not use the combination for fine art or graphics where color reproduction matters, turning a run of the mill 4K monitor into a slave to computer has exceeded my expectations. Note this isn't being used for gaming, just a secondary monitor from my iMac. Even better, Next Day delivery was on time this time! ... show more

It came in a very nice box for a cable. Not only the box looks nice but the quality of the cable is high as well. It is plug and play as we all know. It is smooth when connecting the cable with my TV, Samsung s20 ultra, and my laptop. I use the laptop more often so the experience with this cable was great. You’ll know immediately that the cable quality is bad when you need too much force to plug it in. My laptop wasn’t on the supported list but it works fine without any hiccups. I've been using this cable for streaming movies from my macbook to my living room TV. It works great. Picture quality is excellent; no complaints. What's nice is that it looks good too. The braided nylon cable and powder-finish aluminum connectors are rather chic if I dare say. Most of my cables are pretty utilitarian and I try to hide them, but with this thing I almost want to show it off -- like "hey, check out this sweet fashion-forward adapter; that's right, I'm so fly even my hdmi cable is hip!" I got a new monitor at the same time as this cable, and almost returned the monitor, thinking it was defective, as the picture kept disappearing for several seconds at a time. Then I tried my old monitor, which I know is perfectly good, and it did the same thing. That leaves the cable, which I also noticed gets extremely hot at the point where it connects to the monitor. So I wouldn't recommend this cable; it seems to me like the quality is poor, and the result can be an unreliable picture. ... show more
