    • No keyboard hot key?!

Its unreal to me that somehow a KVM was created that does not have a keyboard hot key for switching! Every other KVM that I have ever used supports a keystroke to switch between PCs (ctrl+ctrl+1 to switch to PC 1, or ScrlLock+ScrlLock+2 to switch to PC 2, etc). This one doesn't seem to have that feature! And the docs make no mention of it. I don't consider this KVM to be suitable for someone who is trying to maintain productivity momentum on two machines simultaneously, for the reason mentioned before, and the following: The switching has a delay of about 2 seconds before mouse and keyboard are ready to use on the computer you've switched to. Also, this KVM switch is independently-powered, but still, the switch must cut off power momentarily to your USB keyboard and mouse between PC switches. So your mechanical keyboard and your wireless mouse have to do their whole start up routine every time you switch. I don't understand this. I have used cheaper, non-powered KVMs that make the keyboard and mouse available to each computer instantaneously, with no delay. Not sure why this one can't manage it. If you find you switch far less frequently than I do, this switch might be fine for you. But I am not sure if I will keep it. (To give you insight in to my set up, I am using the KVM as just a keyboard and mouse switcher, between three MacBook Pros, each with their own monitor that doesn't go through the KVM) ... show more

    • Works, but finnicky

When I first received the unit, it worked like a charm. I had no issues with the PCs and Laptops it was connected to, everything worked as expected. About a month in, I built a new PC with W10 and nothing outrageous HW wise, and around 2 weeks later I started to see some odd issues with stuttering. Things would disconnect and reconnect sometimes, but mostly the mouse and keyboard would just stop responding for 1/4s-2s and then return. At first I blamed the PC, so I plugged it into the old PC and the same issue came up after a few days. I then pointed to possible power issues, but it was already connected to a line conditioner, so I moved it to the UPS, one step further, the issue came back up a week later. The issue wasn't limited to 1 PC though, it also occurred on another laptop, but I still had 1 PC and 1 Laptop that it never happened on (A Macbook M1 and a Linux Mint system). It's likely the issue is limited to my Windows PCs, but it's a major issue no less. Powering the unit off and back on typically fixes it, but lately even that hasn't been working. I confirmed the issue was specific to the KVM by connecting a second Keyboard and Mouse to the PC, and when the stuttering occurred, I was able to use the second keyboard and mouse without issue, meanwhile the KVM unit stuttered when I would go back to it. This test was for about 2 minutes each time, using one for the time, then the other, just to make sure it was KVM specific. Overall, the unit is a great price for what you get, but clearly there's some flaws in my specific unit that is causing it to lag inputs. I'm not sure what the cause is and I haven't contacted support as of yet, but it's something worth noting. It also seems specific to my W10 instances, and not to the Macbook or Linux systems, but I'm not going to spend a ton of time trying to pin down what that might be. ... show more

This little gem allows me to use my more expensive keyboard/mouse combo I have for my home PC for work also. Simply press a button to change the output computer (it supports up to 4 computers) and it switches the mouse/keyboard to the right computer. It works flawlessly and is about the same cost as even a basic keyboard/mouse combo set and saves the hassle of physically swapping keyboards & mouse every time. I got this to replace a problem keyboard/mouse combo I used for work before and it was a very good investment. Highly recommend this. ... show more

    • Only passing 1080P resolution from 2 PCs

Nice looking unit, but it's not passing anything higher than 1080P resolution to the 4K monitor via HDMI. Previous KVM (TESmart HDMI 4K unit which stopped passing keyboard/mouse input after 3 years) would pass 38400x2160 for 1 and 1440P for the other PC. I can't seem to find any settings that make the display greater than 1080P and it's really annoying. Would like to get the higher resolutions back, but at least the keyboard/mouse inputs are working correctly. :( ... show more

    • An okay KVM

I was impressed with it at first. Actually, still am, for the money I spent. Problem though is it seems to have issues with keyboard/mice. Especially when everything is plugged into a USB 3.0 channel. Which....is part of why I bought the KVM. I found if I plug the USB into a USB 2.0 slot, the random LAG in mouse/keyboard inputs goes away. Which works fine with most devices that have a mix of USB 3.0 and older. BUT, not good with the Mac Mini I use with this. Ended up swapping the USB 3.0 wire for a USB 2.0 wire for the Mac Mini. And that seemed to fix the issue. Other than giving up USB 3.0 (which is part of why I bought this), the rest of the unit works great. I can live without it for the KVM function....but still. It's why I bought it. ... show more
