  • Works fairly well. Check for compatibility.
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
This first one I was sent worked for a few hours and was dead the next day. The company immediately shipped me a new one, which was great. The new one is still working. It does just what I wanted: one keyboard and mouse plugged in and the switch changes which computer they control and also which computer’s output goes to the monitor. It takes a good 5-10 seconds for the switch to happen, but I think this is mostly the computer recognizing new hardware plugged in each time. The only “con” I have aside from the first unit going bad is about the resolution and frame rate. If I plug my laptop directly into my monitor I can see the available resolutions and frame rates and choose accordingly. With this switch, many more options are available and my monitor does not support them all. Even worse, my monitor does support a certain mode that I wish to use, but this switch does not support that (2560x1440 at 60 Hz). It does not make sense why not because the item description says it supports up to 4K at 60 Hz. I have used 4K with it, but only 30 Hz (my monitor does not do 4K at 60 Hz). If you buy this, you might want to check that your intended resolution(s) are supported. The tech team said indeed that mine is not supported, so I will either have a low frame rate (bad for any gaming) or low resolution (wasting the capability of my 4K monitor)… ... show more

  • Doesn't come with enough HDMI cables.
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
Read the fine print, this comes with 1 HDMI cable but you need 3. You need one from each computer to the switch and one from the switch to the monitor. Luckily I had some extra HDMI cables laying around and made it work. I'm very happy with this KVM switch so far. I can't speak to the longevity of the switch as I just got it, but it feels well made. It has 4 USB ports which allowed me to remove a USB hub that I had been using with my old KVM. The biggest feature for me is the EDID functionality. My old USB 2.0 HDMI KVM switch didn't have this. As a result, my desktop computer would boot up, you could see the screen during P.O.S.T. but once windows loaded the graphics card driver instead of the generic, it wouldn't recognize any display and would make the screen go black. This switch works perfectly fine in that regard. I also really like the remote button because it has LED numbers on it to indicate which PC is the active one. I have a keyboard, mouse and 2K webcam plugged in and it works great. I'll update my review if anything fails. Removed one star due to the lack of HDMI cables. ... show more

  • Hassle-Free and Works Perfectly.
Size: USB 2.0 4K@30HZ
My wife found herself in a pinch. She had recently started working from home, and was given a company computer from which she had to do her professional work. Problem was, she has a personal computer of her own, and didn't have room at her desk for two complete computer systems and twin monitors. This switch solved that problem handily. For those unfamiliar with KVM switches, here's what the switch does: it takes a single keyboard/mouse and a single monitor, and allows two different computers to share them. Each computer connects into the back of the switch by way of one HDMI (for the monitor) and one USB 2.0 (for communicating with the keyboard and mouse). Your monitor also connects at the back of the switch via HDMI. When you want to switch from one computer to the other, all that you need to do is hit a button... and as the name of the device suggests, it switches. Easy-peasey. I had ordered the unit which offers 4 USB ports at the front, which would allow such things as thumb drives and USB headphones to be sharable between computers. This works without a hitch. My wife, who is partial to her own wireless keyboard/mouse, wanted to plug her dongle into the switch, and doing so worked seamlessly. While she has two systems below her desk, the surface of her desk has all the space she's always had: one monitor, one keyboard, and one mouse. The unit powers itself through the USB connections from either computer system, so there's no new cord to plug in (considering you're already rocking two computer systems, power strip space comes at a premium). There's also an extension to the switchover button, so if you'd like to hide the switch box entirely, you can rig the remote so that it sticks underneath your desk like a panic button. We just use the button on top of the unit, since the box itself is only a bit larger than a pack of cigarettes. In a device which is designed to save space, it makes sense that it doesn't occupy a lot of space on its own. It's a device which only does one thing, but does it well. Once it's set up, you won't have to worry about it. And it's reasonably priced! ... show more

  • Overheats and stops working
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
I love this little KVM switch. It does everything i need and the satellite button is just what i need.... except for one small problem. It overheats and stops working. I have to disconnect it and let it cool down and it will work again. This is really sad since I love it. Might even get a fan for it... who knows. ... show more

  • Does not support 2560 x 1440 on an M1 Macbook
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
Does not properly support 2560 x 1440 - it emulates a 1920 x 1080 monitor forcing you to use this or a multiple of this resolution. Forcing to 2560 x 1440 creates blurry images as it's scaling 1920 x 1080. This was setup on an M1 Macbook Pro Simply put unless you are using 1920 x 1080 (or a multiple like 4K) this does not work. Most KVM switches are more flexible. Returning mine ... show more

  • It works, but video is a bit messed up for one computer
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
I just got a new computer. I needed to be able to access the old computer and the new computer on one monitor. This KVM to switch was easy to set up and works well on my newer computer. The resolution for the older computer are messed up. I don't have the numbers at hand, but it seems impossible to find an optimal setting for the resolution on that older computer. So my conclusion is that monitor settings are not set automatically by the KVM software. ... show more

  • Not a good fit for my windows laptop
Size: USB 3.0 4K@60HZ
Worked more or less as advertised, but it couldn't figure out my monitor's native resolution, and it would only do 4k at 30hz, which was ultimately a deal breaker for me. It was totally fine with my Linux machine, but only because I made a custom screen resolution. I ended up returning this unit for something different. ... show more
