  • Great sturdy sling. Prompted me to write this essay 😆
Color: Black
This camera sling looks and works as described and definitely met my expectations. The material is comfortable and flexible, and the leather looking accents make this sling a nice option for formal events as well as casual or sports events. Function: Recently used it to hold my camera for over 10 hours shooting a wedding on a very large property where everything was in a different building. I was running between the outdoor ceremony area, a giant barn turned into an event hall, the grooms cabin, the brides rooms and parents suites in the large manor, the chapel and 4 outdoor portrait spots spread throughout the property. I did use the included underarm support strap and it kept the sling in place. The entire day I felt confident this sling would support my camera with flash, grip and any of my lenses. I attached the safety strap and checked the fastening screw multiple times but it never felt like it was coming loose like other reviews have stated. It was not attached directly to the camera but to a metal left grip bracket connected to the bottom of the camera, so maybe this contributed to the tight/secure connection. I had an extra battery and extra memory card in their corresponding pockets that stayed in place until I reached for them. It was a very active* job and this strap was comfortable and performed well. Size: I am a short man with broad shoulders for my height and had no problem adjusting it to fit. The fasteners for the underarm support strap come out from inside the sling and can be pushed from one side to the other to switch shoulders or can be hidden in the sling if the support strap will not be used. *Not entirely relevant but the sling was in use when a few brush/tree fires on the neighbors land reached the manors property line while the grooms party was changing. Owners asked for help and the groom, groomsmen and I ran to keep the fires from reaching the buildings with yard hoses and buckets for about 15 min until the fire dept trucks started showing up. Got terrific shots of the groom in the middle of the action and other great portrait shots with the water cannon shooting above them into the treeline once everyone got their tuxedos on and came back out after the fire dept got it under control. The sling worked through the action and still looks good. ... show more

  • This Strap Is Worth Having
Color: Black
The USA GEAR Camera Sling Shoulder Strap, without exaggeration, may accurately be described as durable, well-made, reliable, easy-to-use, non-cumbrous, and comfortable. With respect to durability, the strap can withstand the abuse of everyday shooting—even for an individual who shoots all day long—the strap handles the task with ease and without showing any signs of wear or distress. Despite being inexpensive, the strap, as abovementioned, is well-crafted. The stitching has been meticulously executed to hold everything firmly in place. There has been no fraying of the threading or of the neoprene and additional materials. The padded neoprene strap that rests across the shoulder is soft and comfortable. More important, however, is the fact that it does not slip and slide as is often the case with similar products. The strap also provides the convenience of two accessory storage pouches; one for transporting memory cards and the other for an extra battery. The reliability of the USA GEAR Camera Sling Shoulder Strap is demonstrated everytime it is used. It has proven itself strong; the metal screw-in plate allows for a solid and secure connection to the camera body, causing neither damage nor injury to either camera or user. The included safety tether connects effortlesly to the camera and provides an added tier of protection, though the occasion to test its strength has not presented itself. As for the quick-release buckle, it simply works. The ease-of-use with this product is unparalleled: securely connect your camera to the strap and loop it around your shoulder, make any necessary adjustments, and you're ready to go. That is it. Although I have never used it, the extra holster is intended to help keep the strap in place; I don't need it. The strap is amply comfortable and secure on my frame—6 feet five inches, 310lbs, with a 58-inch chest. Even at my size, the strap moves freely and comfortably. It does not get snagged or hitched anywhere on my person while in use. Moreover, I am able to access the camera when necessary and free to let it hang when it is not. One of the features of its design is the adjustability of the strap that allows for even weight distribution of full camera setup. This, too, functions seamlessly and without problems. In closing, the USA GEAR Camera Sling Shoulder Strap is a good investment whether or not one is on a strict budget. The sleek design and durable stitching have resulted in a product that is reliable, comfortable, and easy-to-use. The strap is adjustable and will, therefore, fit a variety of body frames, sizes, and heights. The included, albeit optional, safety harness provides added security for your gear without getting in the way or making the overall design bunglesome. Two pockets, one for an extra battery and the other for surplus SD cards, the quick-release sliding locks, and the shoulder holster, all prove to be a boon to the user. The screw-in plate, screw-lock carabiner, and its strap attachment are all solidly manufactured out of metal. At bottom, this strap is worth having, both in terms of the cost-benefit as well as in terms of the accessibility and security it provides. ... show more

  • A little big
Color: Black
OVERALL: The product is great, comfortable and as described. The quality is great. Decent padding and I even check the stitching, which is good. As outlined below, I feel there are some minor flaws, however, I think most are technically personal preferences, but I’m sure others may find my points to be valid. 4 Stars because of the size and because of the inability to attach to a tripod. PROS: - Comfortable and well padded - Battery Pouch - Memory Card Pocket - Under Arm Band (the buckle and band can actually slip through to be converted to wear on the other shoulder) - Sturdy Metal Plate with a Rubber Grip - The attachment is like a screw lock caribeaner (Unlike other brands that have a clip you pinch, which I think is unsafe because heavier camera setups may cause it to open.) CONS: - The included Safety Tether, it has a spiral rings on either end and one is to attach to the metal sliding clip. I personally do not trust that setup. Here is why - no matter the brand (inexpensive or high end), I’ve seen the metal just snap. That is why I would not want to attach the tether to something that may potentially give in at any point in time. So I purchased a separate safety tether with a screw lock caribeaner that attaches to the strap. - It’s too long. I’m 5’2” and it’s too long and sits a little past my hip bone. This is the shortest I could adjust it while allowing the camera to hang properly. Another person similar in height had mentioned that in her review and I made a mental note of that when window shopping. But it wasn’t a huge deal breaker to me. Here is how I remedied that. I am aware modifying a product voids any warranty’s or returns - I did this after I decided I was definitely happy with my purchase. I cut the end of the strap that is attached to the “sliding strap-adjuster” and I simply made it shorter by about 8”. And then I reattached it by sewing it and reinforcing the sewn part with glue. - The ends of the metal plate are not flush with the screw, so you cannot properly attach it to a tripod even if it has the screw hole in it. It can fit on a monopod, but I don’t use those. - Memory cards are small, I don’t like that it’s essentially an open pocket for it. I think it should have a flap or have a zipped compartment. I just put my spare memory card with the spare battery. ... show more

  • Great sling strap!
Color: Black
A friend recommended me this type of strap to avoid strain on the neck with the conventional camera strap. Yes, this is way more comfortable to carry your camera around, what a difference! I chose this over others because it has a pocket for the battery with a Velcro closure, it comes extra handy when doing night photography and can’t find your battery in the dark. The sling strap that goes over the shoulder is lightly padded and comfortable too. I would recommend using it with the underarm strap otherwise it moves all over the place. The sling and the underarm strap are both adjustable, so it fits even if I’m wearing a puffy jacket. It also has adjustable clips to keep the camera from sliding. The sling can be used on the left or right shoulder with the pocket still facing front, you just need to adjust the buckles. The screw-in metal plate and carabiner hook seem to be durable. The optional camera tether connects to the carabiner hook as well, so this is only useful if the screw connecting your camera and metal plate fails but not if the carabiner itself fails. The metal plate has a tripod mount screw. Depending on the tripod you own, you could use it without removing the strap. My tripod uses a quick-release plate instead of the 1/4” screw, so unfortunately it doesn’t work with mine (but I knew this before I bought this item). My only issue is that my strap is twisted (like it shows on my picture) I can’t get it to lay flat like it’s shown in the pictures from the seller. Looks like it may have been sewn like that. I just use it with the twisted part on my back so it won’t get stuck while sliding the camera up or down. Overall it’s a nice product. I'm happy with my purchase and I would recommend! ... show more

This is an amazing camera sling. I love how the camera secures to the sling and it's easily adjustable.

  • Artsy & Pretty but Very Long Strap
Color: Southwest
This is beautiful and well made; offers good safety and support for my camera & long lens. Little pockets a bonus. I'd give it 5 stars except I'm small and the strap is SOOO long I can't adjust it short enough for me, so I'm having to take the time and effort to sew a "tuck" of 7, yes SEVEN inches, to make it fit me. Could have done better IMHO! ... show more

  • Great Strap with slight modification.
Color: Black
After looking at all the various slings available I liked that this had a longer padded section on the shoulder. Also has pockets to store memory card and extra battery. One draw back, the strap under the arm is too short for me. Should be longer. The strap over the shoulder is plenty long and adjustable. The camera now sits right where my right had hangs, so can just grab it and bring up and shoot. I also bought the wrist strap from same company.USA Gear Camera Wrist Strap with Black Padded Neoprene Design, Comfortable Support and Quick Release Buckles - Works With Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony and More DSLR, Mirrorless, Instant Cameras Problem i found, is that the safety strap that comes with the sling is attached with a split ring. So the only way to take if off, is to unscrew carabiner connected to bottom attachment plate and remove strap, but then it stays attached to the camera. FYI, split ring is real pain to put on. The wrist strap attaches the same way, but does have a buckle to unattach it to the wrist strap, but again stays on camera. So, I got creative. I found an old camera strap that used clips at the end. I took the split ring off the wrist strap and looped one hook on to that . I then put that split ring on the camera. I then attached another clip to the safety strap with that split ring. Now i can detach both or switch back and forth and the only think that stays on the camera is the split ring. Company should figure an interchangeable system for these. Note: other strap in picture is for my lens cap. ... show more

  • Best strap!
Color: Black
I second shot a wedding using this strap and without it I would have missed a priceless shot and it’s all thanks to the shoulder strap pocket. It’s the perfect side to put a camera batter and 1-2 memory cards and thank goodness I did. I was able to quickly change out my memory cards that were stored in the pocket within a matter of seconds and just in time to capture a priceless moment. The strap feels very sturdy even though I’ll never feel comfortable with my camera dangling from my body. There are extra safety straps just in case the camera becomes disconnected. I like the adjustable plastic pieces that let you choose how the camera will hang (I like it more in front of my body so I can keep an eye on it) and keep it there. You can easily adjust the strap so that you can raise and lower your camera to use it with ease. I wore it for 8+ hours and my neck was killing me the next day but while I was wearing it I was very comfortable. I also felt like it looked very professional. 5 stars and I would definitely buy again. ... show more
