Recently, I have been obsessed with reed diffusers! While I love candles, reed diffusers have a bit more flexibility because you don’t have to worry about an open flame. I’ve tried many different scents and brands of diffusers now and I’m always interested in trying out something new. I was excited to try out the Urban Naturals Crisp Alpine Air reed diffuser and below is my review. 🌲PACKAGING: This item arrived in the manufacturer’s packaging: a chic black box that includes the glass jar of oil as well as a bundle of reeds. The items were packaged safely and arrived free of damage. The packaging is such that it can easily be wrapped and gifted. 🌲DETAILS: The oil comes in a black glass jar and includes approximately 5 oz of essential oil. 8 diffusing reeds are also included. This item is eco-friendly and non-toxic. Per the manufacturer, it lasts for four months or more. 🌲THE DIFFUSER: The first thing that I noticed about this diffuser was the overall chic and elegant look. The packaging is black and has a slightly masculine look. The actual diffuser set is all black: black glass jar and black reeds. No label on the glass jar, just a simple but sophisticated look that could easily match with about any home décor. I prefer a diffuser that looks like this because it doesn’t take away from any of my home décor- the diffuser itself doesn’t stand out necessarily, but the scent does. The scent is listed as “Crisp Alpine Air”. Before actually smelling the oil, I had an idea of what it may smell like. I imagined it would have more of a cologne smell- something more masculine with maybe some undertones of cedar or pine. I was almost anticipating NOT liking it- I couldn’t have been more wrong! The scent of this oil is like walking in a pine forest on a crisp winter morning. The first note that I picked up on was the pine- and it isn’t the perfumy or cologne type pine smell, but like the fresh cut Christmas tree pine smell. It has very woodsy notes- a very natural and crisp, clean scent. The manufacturer lists the notes as eucalyptus, citrus, vanilla, pine, and balsam. I can definitely smell the pine and balsam, and I can pick up subtle notes of vanilla, but I personally cannot smell any notes of citrus or eucalyptus. This is a very natural and woodsy scent that I can only describe as walking through a pine forest on a crisp chilly day. It’s a lovely scent! This may be one of the better smelling oils that I’ve experienced in a reed diffuser. I was pleasantly surprised. The strength of this scent is noticeable without being overwhelming. I feel that it is very easy for a scent like this to be ‘too much’ but this is perfect. I decided to put this on my mantel in my living room and I definitely notice it as I walk by. I also catch whiffs of it when I’m sitting in the living room. The living room space is very open and big so the fact that I can notice it from my couch is great! 🌲This item is listed at $24.99 at the time of this review. Reed diffusers can really vary in price as well as quality. Some of my favorite diffusers (because of both scent and quality) are upwards of $40. This was my first experience with the Urban Naturals brand and I was not disappointed. For the cost, this reed diffuser is a great value: the scent is amazing, the price is affordable, and *hopefully* it lasts as long as promised. I feel that this diffuser is great quality- this would make a nice gift in the place of a candle for example. Overall, I was really impressed by the Urban Naturals brand as well as this reed diffuser and I would highly recommend this item.

I really like the vase & sticks for my b&w half bath. This is a quality product made in the USA that should have earned a 5 star review. My disappointment was in the overwhelming pine fragrance. I would have appreciated if the aroma tended more to the eucalyptus, citrus notes mentioned. I did shake the bottle before inserting the sticks. Perhaps I need to do that again. But, right now, the impression I get is pine - Pine Sol. Which is a clean odor. Just not the more exotic mix of eucalyptus and citrus I was expecting. However, the bottle is very nice - a smooth, glassy black which can be filled with a different oil.

The reeds soak up the oils and it smells amazing. Would make a great gift for anyone. Put them anywhere as they a like a decorative piece.

I put this in my guest bathroom, followed instructions to dip the reeds in and then flip them upside down and left and did some chores in my main bathroom- which is on the opposite side of the house. Well, once I finished with chores, I walked into the livingroom and I could smell this! Half of my 1,800 sqft home had the scent of this reed diffuser! It was a nice scent, but way too strong and my poor cat was just meowing at me nonstop to take away the smell. I've never used a reed diffuser before and thought it would be a light aroma that would be OK to use in my guest bathroom since my cat never goes in there. Now I just feel really bad for making my cat have to smell this for days (it took about 3 days to fully go away after 1hr of use!). Nonetheless, if you don't have pets in the house and aren't sensitive to strong smells, then this is a wonderful diffuser with a pleasant scent that you can use to scent a whole livingroom! It smells like you've just walked into a fragrance store and you're going down an aisle full of forest-y scents with subtle hints of citrus and vanilla.

The scent of this diffuser is sublime! Some diffuser scents are obnoxiously over-powering with an obviously fake scent. This one is not. Thus far in my living room, sitting atop the fireplace mantle, it yields a comfortable scent quite reminiscent of an alpine forest. (Yes, think conifer scent from the Schwarzwald in Germany.) If you have an artificial Christmas tree and miss the scent of a real tree, this diffuser is for you. The bottle is plain and dark with no brand or glitzy label. I can not comment on the claim to lasting 4 months, but so far I'm quite pleased. For optimal scent diffusion, the maker recommends inverting the sticks every 3-4 days. I'm also pleased to support a small business with a product made here in the USA!

I bought a bunch of reed diffusers from another vendor as a gift for my wife's birthday and I must admit they really do change the atmosphere of a room. I decided to get this for my own space and it really is an olfactory mood changer. While a bit overpowering when I first set it up, I quickly became use to the crisp, clean odor that I find soothing when I step into my room to work on projects or to grab a quick power snooze. I like the way it unobtrusively blends into the items on the bookcase I set it on. With the classic black look, this could be placed in the open and fit in. It might be kind of nice if the reeds fit a little tighter in the opening by having a bushing and maybe prevent accidental spillage for ham-handed folks like me as the reeds are rotated every three or four days. A nice little thing to get that will cozy up a room as it is closed up for the coming colder days.

Using this in the bedroom while it's getting colder outside is almost perfect. The scent of this is just right, like your in a forest in winter, the scent seems very clean with sweet notes and the subtlest hints of pine and balsam, it's like breathing fresh air. The container it comes in looks great and is nicely made.
