Very easy to install. This is heavy so it’s a nice piece of mind. The corresponding car seat clips right in and is perfect. The leg style design was nice because it felt like it was counteracting the weight of the car seat. These are a little pricey, but worth it.

If you are a two-car family, you already know that the "base swap" is a recipe for frustration. Constant unbuckling and re-leveling from one vehicle to another is the last thing you want to deal with when you're just trying to get out the door. Adding an UPPAbaby Extra Aria Car Seat Base to the second car is easily the best investment you can make for your daily sanity. It allows you to simply click the carrier into whichever car is headed out, without the hardware headache. The SmartSecure system is the standout feature here. It uses a red-to-green visual indicator that takes the guesswork out of installation, which is a massive relief when you want to be 100% sure everything is locked in correctly. The integrated load leg is also a great safety addition, as it helps stabilize the seat and reduces rotation during an impact. However, there is a practical reality to watch out for if you have a premium interior. This base is built to be rock-solid, but that means it puts a lot of pressure on the seat cushion. If you have leather or pleather seats, you absolutely need to put a high-quality protective pad underneath it. Without a barrier, the weight and the tight installation will leave a serious, permanent dent in your upholstery. It’s a small extra step, but necessary to protect your car's interior.

This base is exactly what they needed to make life a lot easier. My Son and Daughter-in-law do not have to worry about moving the car seat around between cars. They both have a base and are ready to go with whatever car they chose to use.

Feels very secure, thanks in part to the extendable leg for support. We’ve had another type of car seat base and this one feels waaay more secure, very little wiggle. I feel comforted knowing my baby is safe!
