  • Finally a great full size newborn compatible stroller!
Color: Savannah (Grey Mélange)
I would like to start by disclosing that I am very critical and picky with strollers. My baby is only 6 months old, and this is now the 6th stroller that we have tried, so needless to say it has been quite a journey to find one that’s right for us. The pros: -Uppababy brand: I have come to the conclusion that we will need more than one stroller for our city based lifestyle, and outside of this one, the one that has worked out best for us is a compact Uppababy travel stroller. I did have a small issue with the travel stroller when we first received it, and UB resolved it with no questions asked. The customer service is unmatched and that makes me confident about investing such a price into a stroller. Out of all the 6 strollers that we have been through, the UB brand has by far been the best quality and customer service. -Basket size: the ease of accessing the storage basket and the capacity of the basket is a huge plus. I am often running errands on my own with the baby, and being able to go to a grocery store with the stroller and just using the stroller basket for a small grocery haul is great. -The push and maneuverability: the smooth ride of Uppababy strollers is unmatched! The Cruz V3 is no exception. -Seat improvement: I held out to purchase the V3 instead of the V2 because of the change of the bucket seat to a seat that can lay fully flat. This is a game changer for when the baby is napping in the stroller or even when we are out and I need to change his diaper. I just keep him in the stroller, lie the seat flat, and change him right in the stroller and don’t need to put him on public bathroom changing pads. -Fabrics: the V3 as well as I believe all other UB strollers are greenguard certified, which is one of the number one things I look for in all baby products. -Newborn nest mode: although we outgrew this feature before the stroller came out, this would have been a huge selling point because one of the things i struggled with in the beginning is finding a stroller that can accommodate a newborn without having to take a chunky bassinet around in the trunk. The versatility of being able to use this stroller from birth through toddler years makes it worth the investment! -“Compact” fold: I put this in quotes because it is definitely not a compact fold, but it is compact for a full size stroller. The vista was not an option for us because it did not fit into my small SUV and had to be put sideways and took up my entire trunk. This one folds compact enough that it fits into my smaller suv (BMW x3). Now as I mentioned, I am hard to please, and although I would rate this stroller 5 stars overall, there are still a few cons although none of them would be deal breakers. The cons: Weight: This stroller is still quite heavy for what would be a smaller end full size stroller. The stroller does feel extremely sturdy though so weight is just a compromise for a well build stroller frame with a large capacity storage basket. Fold: I don’t find the fold the easiest and there are too many steps to make it compact. You need to move the handlebar to the lowest position, pull the canopy back and align the seat with the handle, pull the fold triggers on each side, and then fold the footrest down and the handle bar down separately. I also don’t like that they moved the latch to unlock the stroller to unfold to the top, because when it is near the handle it makes it easier to unfold in one maneuver when pulling out of the trunk. With the latch closer to the footrest, I now have to take the stroller out of the trunk and fully set it down on the ground, and can then unlatch and unfold it. The stroller also cannot be folded with the seat in parent facing mode, so it always has to be removed and turned around before folding. Newborn nest visibly: when the newborn nest mode is not used and the fabric is folded behind the foot rest, the extra fabric shows on the sides of the footrest. I wish they had designed a pocket behind the footrest to nearly tuck everything away as the newborn mode is used for such a short period and it would have been nice to fully disguise it the rest of the strollers lifecycle. The seat: my biggest disappointment with the V3 upgrade is that they did not make it an all weather seat with a mesh back. We live in Florida and it gets extremely hot and this would have been such a great addition. The seat is also slightly more narrow than the V2 (only by about 1” I believe) but that does raise concerns about the strollers longevity compared to the older model for kids who are in the higher percentile for weight and height. The canopy extension: the canopy coverage is good when fully extended, but not the best that I have seen. There is an extra fabric that wraps around the belly bar, but this is most helpful for newborn mode or when the stroller is fully reclined, but hangs loose if extended while the stroller is in an upwards position. Without this extension, the canopy is big enough to keep sun of out his eyes but still gives more sun exposure than I would like. All in all, I would rate this stroller an 8/10. The quality of the frame, basket, fabrics, and the comfortable seat and push make this a great long term investment that can last for multiple kids. If you are expecting a newborn and do not need to take this stroller in and out of the car and will use it for neighborhood walks, then this is the perfect stroller. If you have toddlers or babies who can sit up already and are considering to upgrade your V2 to the V3, although it is a great stroller, I would stick to the V2 for the bigger seat and don’t think the non newborn upgrades are worth the extra cost. ... show more

  • Beautiful stroller
Color: Declan (Oat Mélange)
We purchased the stroller in Declan, it is such a dream! It handles very well, and drives smoothly. Paired with the Aria car seat it is perfect for running errands. My baby loved the carriage mode, and the sun shade was great for our afternoon walk. We purchased the V3 Bassinet as well but I'm not sure how much we will be using it with the stroller. So glad we were finally able to grab one after the wait! ... show more

  • Surprised by the upgraded design!
Color: Greyson (Charcoal Mélange)
This new Cruz V3 has absolutely surpassed my expectations! I love Uppababy and have had both the Vista and the Vista V2. Because the differences in those two were so minor I didn't expect for the V3 to be all that revolutionary but I WAS WRONG! This new version is absolutely worth the upgrade! I will start by saying that these changes are both cosmetic AND functionality. Some minor changes that may not seem like that big of a deal but are actually huge would be the magnetic buckle (so quick and convenient while still being secure) but also the way the bumper bar and footrest fold when folding the stroller (surprisingly more compact than before). Overall the fabric and materials of this stroller are similar in quality to the previous V2 models EXCEPT the superiority lies in the design and combination of them all together. The removable seat liner allowing you to have a mesh back seat (one of my all time favorite features of a previous Nuna stroller I had) makes such a difference in hot summer months. This new design with the seat liner not only makes it easier to keep cool but also means that overall the seat is easier to keep clean since the fabric can easily be taken out and spot cleaned when necessary. The Cruz is still a full size stroller (and you can tell that in the maneuverability of the wheels and suspension over bumps and uneven terrain) but is a good but more compact than my Vista V2. Super easy to get in and out of my car and also lightweight enough to carry upstairs to get it inside when needed. The canopy offers such good coverage for shading and sun protection AND the included rain cover makes such a huge difference if you are traveling or out for a long day outing when avoiding wet weather isn't always possible. The last thing I will make note of (but one of the BEST THINGS about this stroller) is that the seat converts into an infant bassinet with no extra parts of pieces. I love the bassinet on my Vista BUT I love that this one is an all-in-one so much more!! The lay flat seatback, infant insert, comfortably adjustable straps, and fold out bassinet bottom (snaps securely in place below bumper bar) makes this so, so elite in comparison to other infant rated strollers on the market. ... show more
