If you don't have patience to learn how to walk with these, don't buy them. If you are willing to figure out the technique, I would definitely recommend these. I wear a size 14 shoe and the other comments are true. If you were a large shoe, the provided Velcro straps will not reach around your foot. I went to Wal-Mart & bought some extra velcro, attached it to the straps that came with the shoes, and the length was perfect. People don't walk with these daily, so you will not be use to them. Take your time and get your balance. The nails do get stuck sometime on roots, gumbo clay, etc. This is to be expected and you have to pull harder with your legs to get them loose. You can't be impatient and expect everything to go smoothly like other comments suggest. You just stuck your nails through something solid, so common sense will tell you that it is going to be tougher to get them out. I wore my aerating shoes from 7AM until4PM, yes, 9 hours aerating my yard the whole time. The velcro straps never came off and stayed tight the whole time even though the shoes got stuck many times and I hand to pull harder to get them unstuck. I walked across concrete many times without the nails bending. The plates and spikes are strong, solid, and made with high quality material. If you have patience and common sense, I would highly recommend these shoes

It is durable being one solid piece for your shoe to go on. Easy to put my size 12 garden shoes in it too. Just wish they provided back up spikes as a few bent due to our rocky soil in Texas. Overall did a good job.

Firstly, I received the product and it seemed to be made of a durable construction. I put them on my feet and the first thing that happened is one of the metal strap loops broke off under the slightest bit of tension. The middle strap that goes over your door wasn’t long enough, I wear a size 12 sneaker, nothing crazy. I stepped out into the yard, dry conditions, 78 degrees, and immediately sunk all the way down to the base of the shoe. Every single step was like that and I had to use all my strength to pull my foot out of the ground every time. After 10 minutes my calves and quads were on fire. I watched other reviews of people not having that issue so apparently if you are 6’3” 240lbs these aren’t the shoes for you.

These came pre assembled, which was nice. I'm a decent sized guy, 250lbs, and as long as you pick your feet straight up and down, using these wasn't a big deal. Also, I wear a 10.5 2E US size (wide) shoe. I came home from work and was able to secure these over my steel toe work boots. They held up great and I will use them again in the fall.

I barely managed to attach the velcro strap on one insole, and a clasp broke on the other. The inherent danger of stabbing yourself in the foot looms large with these, and at the end of the aeration the lawn looked even worse than it did before. Inner-seeding remains the best answer for seeding a lawn and making it more robust. It's up to consumers whether to play around with aeration. That said, I have yet to try seeding a lawn after aerating it.

Built strong and sturdy unlike plastic and will last longer. No assembly required is great. I purchased for my back yard mainly that is clay soil but they can get stuck and pull up soil and grass at times. Well built straps so they stay. My yard is beginning to shows signs of life again. Cheaper then a pro company and get a good workout in the process.

You need to tighten them as much as you can to your feet. Helps to find big rocks that the landscaper left when the put down the sod🙄 But they definitely work great. I use pliers to bend the spikes straight again.
