  • Absolutely superb
Size: 88 Key Black
I purchased this keyboard so I could practice on it, wearing headphones, while my wife watches TV. I also wanted something that I could have in the green room to warm up on prior to a gig. My regular rig that I gig with consists of a Studiologic Grand midi controller connected to a Macbook running Main Stage, together with an Access Virus. Of course, the Oyayo cannot be directly compared to my gigging rig, but the Oyayo is absolutely excellent for my intended purpose. I purchased the upgraded version because it has a midi jack. I took it out of the box, unfolded it on the coffee table, and it fired right up, and has been running on battery for probably 4 hours. The action, while it does not compare to a true weighted action, is excellent for what it is and not at all offensive (like many unweighted actions can be). The velocity response is right on. The key dimensions and the throw are right on. The speakers are sufficient, and when using the piano setting, the entire keyboard resonates, thus adding to a pleasant aural sensation. So far, I've used patch #1 (grand piano) and patch #8 (clavinet). I've checked out the metronome and some of the percussion rhythm patches. For me, this keyboard delivers exactly what I was looking for: a compact, lightweight design that is easily portable. The sound palette is way beyond what I need for my limited purpose. This keyboard would be sufficient for an amateur to use as his/her primary keyboard at home and would work fine for accompanying singers for informal sessions. I have not connected the audio to a sound system. ... show more

  • Great keyboard for practicing when travelling.
Size: 88 Key Black
This is a great keyboard for the price. The sound is not as great as a higher end keyboard but I was pleasantly surprised at the sound. It is better than most keyboards at this price. I purchased this to practice while travelling. I am preparing for a piano exam and this worked well to use while away from home. I purchased other keyboards before this one and had to return them because the sound was not good. It also worked well when I connected it to Garage Band to improve the sound. Not required but it is compatible if you want to connect it. Great for beginners up to early advanced players. Excellent for practicing while travelling. ... show more

  • Useful Portable Travel Keyboard
Size: 88 Key Black
This keyboard is not a replacement for a real piano, or a professional electric stage piano, but it is very good for any keyboard player who needs a convenient instrument to travel with, or to practice with in locations where your other keyboards don't have access. For instance in front of your television or computer while watching YouTube piano lesson videos. The action is 'semi weighted' and although it cannot emulate a fully weighted keyboard, it is adequate and dynamic. Certainly much better than any keyboard with non-weighted keys. There are a full 88 keys, with only the very slightest (negligible) reduction in size compared to a standard piano (the 88 keys stretch to about 87 standard keys). The inbuilt speakers are surprisingly loud and clear. This is important as Bluetooth audio OUT is not supported. (because of the unavoidable Bluetooth lag between hitting a key and the sound emitted). Amplified sound can be managed through standard mini cables to any amp. Attachments to MIDI devices is comprehensive and achieved with either Bluetooth (MIDI lag is negligible) or USB cable. There is an enormous number of inbuilt instrument patches, most of which one will probably never use. The basic Grand Piano and E-Piano are imho best for day to day practice. Other patches can be accessed through MIDI if needed, e.g. to your iPad with one of the many apps available - I like the Korg selection (pictured) . A number of other functions are also supported (split keyboard, recording etc). The instrument comes with a useful sustain pedal with a standard jack plug. Overall, this is a very reasonably priced portable keyboard. It weighs a little over 5kg, and folded up it can be easily carried in its small carry bag. It will not fit into a standard-sized airline carry-on bag as it's a little too long, but if you know your airline well you might get away with it. I'm very happy with this purchase, as a very convenient alternate travel keyboard, not as a replacement for my other instruments. ... show more

  • Real piano look and feel
Size: 88 Key Black
Key action is realistic, sound is authentic. It's easy to fold and open. Quality feels good. I haven't used any of the features yet, so no review on that aspect

  • The best folding 88 note keyboard
Size: 88 Key Black
I’ve been looking for the perfect lightweight keyboard for travel and this the the best one I found. I have 2 others of these. The nice thing about this one is the speakers sound way better, there is a 1/4 inch jack for both the main out and the sustain pedal. All the others use 1/8 inch. The other nice thing is it uses a regular usb jack so the midi works for my computer. Glad I got this. ... show more

  • Not worth it for 200
Size: 88 Key Black
I saw a youtube video praising this and someone said it's an upgraded folding piano with better speakers, so I was hopeful. For context I'm an intermediate player who is looking to pass the time. I'm rusty but I learned on an upright. Size and weight are good, it is very portable. Action is ok, passable, but not worth the price. I think a $200 casio would be better, or a second hand yamaha/roland. The dealbreaker was that the speakers are really bad. They sound super tinny when pressing certain keys, and only works if the volume is less than 4. Also I think the sensitivity needs to be tuned - it is inconsistently loud and quiet, and really hard to press close to the black keys. I would not recommend it for these reasons because it would be a giant headache in the long run - you wouldn't be able to play on a real piano if you got used to this. It would create some really bad habits. So overall it's maybe worth $100 for a child to gauge interest, or for an adult to practice scales on. One star because I like that the headphone jack was in front. One star for portability and ease of folding. ... show more
