It works but it's not the correct size.

Modified it to fit between normal vinyl by cutting off the legs, moving them in, super glueing them back, and shaving some plastic. Almost worked, but was still cracking the vinyl if it wasn't perfectly perpendicular. It took too much consideration during line-up and ultimately hand nailing was faster. This is my second attempt at cheaper options and soon I'll be at the cost of the premium siding tips so I just need to bit the bullet.

I picked up the Upgraded DCN45RN Vinyl Siding Adapter Tips (2 Pack) to use with my DeWalt 20V Cordless Roofing Nailer (compatible with DCN45RNB & DCN45RND1), and these tips have made siding jobs much smoother. If you do a lot of vinyl siding installs, these adapters are a handy upgrade that delivers more consistent performance. Installation was quick and easy — they snap into place just like the originals. Once attached, the upgraded tips feed nails cleanly and smoothly through siding without the misfires or snags I sometimes experienced with the stock tips. The fit feels precise, and there’s a noticeable improvement in how well they seat the siding without tearing or denting it. Having two tips in the pack is great because it means I always have a spare on hand — especially useful on longer jobs when a tip can wear or get bumped out of alignment. As a contractor, I’ve even 3D printed my own siding adapters before. These fit my DeWalt nail gun perfectly and are way more durable than my 3D printed ones. They don’t break easily and save me so much time on the job. Great quality for the price, highly recommend.
