I purchased this unit for my 2010 Hyundai Elantra as a replacement for an aging Clarion after-market stereo. My goal was to add CarPlay to my vehicle so that I could eliminate both the Clarion and a 1st gen Amazon Echo Auto. I also purchased a Metra double-din installation kit for my vehicle, as a previous owner had replaced my factory kit to accommodate the single-din Clarion. I re-used the wiring harness from the Clarion stereo. Cabling was straightforward. The only modifications that I had to make were: (1) widening one of the screw holes on the Metra mounting kit, and (2) using a Dremel tool to modify the trim panel to fit my car (removing the top entirely and trimming around the edges... the photo shows the scratches in the lower right of the trim due to my not-so-steady hands). Overall, the installation was easy and straightforward, and I'm pleased with the appearance. I did not install the reverse camera kit due to time and weather, but I intend to install it at a future date. I tested the stereo prior to reassembling the dashboard and found the touchscreen to be more responsive than expected and the sound quality to be on-par or better than the Clarion stereo (using factory speakers and no amplifier). As noted by others, I did notice a low, almost imperceptible "clicking" noise through the speakers when the engine is not running and a low volume setting. I do not notice the noise during normal operations. The stereo connected with my iPhone XR using wireless CarPlay without issue. PROS: - Amazing price for what the stereo provides - Easy installation (with separate mounting kit) - Slim profile allows for easy cable management behind the stereo CONS: - No volume "knob". Turning volume up and down at traffic lights will take some getting used to as I have to glance at the touch screen to locate the volume buttons. - No "detail" in the manual beyond basic installation descriptions. I am still fumbling my way through the interface and menu with little guidance beyond "try this and see what happens". I will give this stereo a year and possibly purchase another for my aging Ford Excursion. ... show more

Great stereo. Responsive touch screen. Android Auto works great. Works smoothly with car controls. I've seen reviews mention a hum/interference at low volumes coming through their speakers. I didn't have this issue at all. Plus a great back up camera. Great value.

So, I'm very techie. This is a POS. Does not connect via Bluetooth or "wireless" mirroring. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+ and a Galaxy A02 both running Android 12. Trying to connect via Bluetooth it says, "couldn't connect." The wireless mirroring gives a QR code. I scanned, installed, tried to connect and it will not connect. With the oem phone cable it will display onto the stereo but whoopie! No frills here. Limited to what is sent to the stereo display. Not social media, no video media apps, i.e Netflix, YouTube, Amazon. So what's the point?? The clock is an ugly analog clock that cannot be changed to digital. They display can be dimmed but not turned off. When Screensaver is set, the stereo display turned to a bright white clock that can't be blacked out, so if you were driving at night you're stuck with a white clock unless you go to settingd and turn down the brightness. There's no quick screen off option like my other stereo has. Do your research and choose something better. I can't understand how this stereo has high ratings. ... show more

This is a spectacular value. Airplay connects seamlessly. Sounds great. Touchscreen is good. Wish I could customize the wallpaper but for the price you can't have it all. Buy this radio you will like it!!!!

This unit gets 2 stars for having functional wireless carplay (maps work great, music works too with a slight caveat), but -3 stars for multiple issues below: First, the metal brackets it comes with are fairly small, and wouldn't fit my vehicle. I had to modify the original casing to fit this (see pictures - the first is with the original casing and the second is without). Second, if nothing is playing, I'm constantly hearing static from the speakers. It's not super loud, but can be annoying if you're on a call with no noise in between calls. But if you're always playing music, you probably won't hear it. Note, I never had static prior to installing this. Third, the steering wheel controls are messed up. No matter what I tried, it never registers properly. If I try to set more than one steering wheel function, no matter which button I press, it always does whatever was set first. For example, if I program the volume down first (it takes several tries to get), then I try to program volume up and save, it will always do volume down even if I'm pressing volume up. And it's not always consistent either. I have to press the volume up/down numerous times before it does anything. Mind you, prior to installing this unit, those buttons worked perfectly fine. Fourth, the touch screen is subpar. It doesn't always register my finger and I have to press it again a lot harder. To add onto this, the volume buttons use the touch screen as well, which makes it difficult to use, especially when driving. Fifth, the casing that goes around it is very flimsy and is difficult to put on, and also comes off easily when trying to mount it properly. I haven't even attempted the backup cam due to all the above issues. I'm not too sure if I will. Perhaps I can test the backup cam before installing it to see if it works properly and report back. The previous 5-star reviews are questionable because no one went into detail about the installation or really made sure everything worked. While this is the cheapest wireless carplay unit, there's a reason why. Unless you're willing to risk what was mentioned above, I suggest to look elsewhere. ... show more
