  • First impression...will update once used...
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (4-pack)
TLDR: Accurate and inexpensive. I checked one of the clamps with a machinist square then with a Starrett protractor (C359FZ) *Keep in mind I only checked one. *I checked both the inside and outside of the clamp (the big red L). *The outside has visible machining marks that make it look like it is out of square, but overall its accurate. Conclusion: it was very square! I clamped then one on my butcher block table with only one L bolt to see how well it clamped. *I noticed a little wobble side to side *I checked the squareness of the big red L on all surfaces and it seemed fine *Checked the table for debris and it was clean. I then checked the L bolt and found the issue *The short leg of the L is about 2 degree as in its 88 degrees and not 90 degrees which allowed for the wobble (note: This is not the red part I am talking about, but rather the bolt used to clamp it to you work.) Conclusion: The L bolt is just a bent rod so I am not surprised that it isn't exactly 90 degrees That being said this will not affect the squareness of you work and I can assume that if you clamp it down in four spots that it won't wobble at all. However, I am picky so my fix is going to be to add spherical washers between the smaller red piece and the knob used to tighten everything down. Again this is completely unnecessary I am just very particular. I can't speak for the more expensive red brand, but I have a feeling these are just as good as those. ... show more

  • Easy to use and accurate
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
I bought Royars Update 90 Degree Positioning Squares to assemble precut bee boxes and frames that needed to be assembled with 90 degree angles. Initially I used the clamps while resulting in an accurate angle took too long. Eventually I would hold the pieces in place against the aluminum right angle and pin and glue the pieces with excellent and quick results ... show more

  • Good not great
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
Used these to make awards podiums. They worked very well, but would sometimes cause the wood to shift while tightening.

  • Handy tool
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
I used these things for the first time last night... With every tool, there's a bit of a learning curve, and I'm sure I'll get better at using these. Some reviews have said that a person needs 3 hands. I'd say four would be better. I was assembling a small box with mitered corners, and I'm picky. I'm sure a butt joint would be MUCH easier, but once I finally got things adjusted and tightened securely, things went well screwing my parts together. These ARE handy, which explains why there are so many knockoffs of the original Woodpecker version. I'm sure the Woodpecker's are slightly easier to use, (I watched lots of Youtube videos,) but I just can't afford them. Looking at all the similar versions, I chose these because the "L" bolt appeared to have a bit longer "L" than many of the others. Overall, I'm happy. ... show more

  • Excellent Squares
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
Tested these against a set of machinist squares. They were dead on 90 degrees. Build quality is excellent. Fit and finish is exceptional. Packed extremely well. Not sure what the white gloves are for.

  • Not impressed with ability to support 45 degree mitered joints
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
I had a project building fireplace mantles out of 3/4 inch hickory with 45 degree mitered corners. Although the 90 degree brackets appear sturdy and accurate, the bend of the "L" bolt was barely long enough to allow the bracket to hold the wood. It is reported to be 1.5 inches long, and if it were 2.0 inches it would have been better. As delivered, barely 1/4" of the clamping bracket was doing the work because the L-bolt was too short for the job. ... show more

  • Wonderful tool to keep around
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
I am currently building a custom desk for my home office and purchased these a few days into the building (I wish I would have had them sooner!). They were perfect for setting the legs and now they are helping me with my drawer face frame. Even though the L-bolt has a certain depth capacity, that can be easily worked around by using regular clamps instead for wider board lengths, so it is in no way a draw back to how they can be used. If you enjoy making precise and well crafted angles these are worth the price point for sure. ... show more

  • Does what it’s designed to do
Size: 5.5" x 5.5" (2-pack)
The prices all fell and look nice. Accurate. Strong enough for the job. I did run into two issues. 1. One of the clamp screws wold not accept a knob. Couldn’t decide why because I even bought a 5/8 knob at local hardware store but it wouldn’t go on either. I did manage to get a 5/8 nut on so it will work. 2. Didn’t realize the clamps were too short for building a table frame that has two 2x4 laminated together. When I tried to square up the frame for a new workable, I had to revert to F clamps to hold the L pieces in place because it’s too short to attach the included clamps. Should work great with smaller boards, plywood, etc. Nice substitute at the price for the other famous brand it looks like but I probably just ran into the issues you will get when you opt for a cheaper product. Quality control is expensive. ... show more
