    • No good out of spec for numerous reasons
No good for retro castle nut out of spec and to large metal is to soft to file and crumbles . Also out of spec for modern castle nut applications . It went straight in the trash I figured after filing on it I couldn’t return it .

It is a wrench. A heavy durable, very usable wrench. The plastic handle cover is durable, and very bright, making it stand out on the bench. It is a great size for working on the bench, as it allows leverage due to its length and the placement of the different holes and cutouts. While it may not be a necessity if you only have one rifle, it is definitely something to have to make the work of cleaning and inspection much easier and quicker. I received my armorers wrench the other day and I must admit I totally forgot I had ordered it I had ordered it because the new platform on the aea select fire 30 caliber PCP rifle I now own has an AR-15 style buttstock for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to tighten and loosen the butt stock without scratching or damaging it and channel locks were out of the question after googling it I found out that they actually have something called an armorers wrench and off to the computer I went to order one when it arrived I couldn't believe how heavy it actually was and all the things that actually could do in no time the stock removal and things I needed to do on my select fire aea PCP rifle we're done in a snap all the corresponding wrench sizes on the armor is wrench worked exactly as it should I have come to learn that not only is it an armors wrench they call it an AR wrench as in AR platform go figure there's not much to it it's just a big black wrench with a red plastic handle but it's not what it is it's how it works and it works fantastic .I knows about this and feel kind of foolish but if this wrench is what you need this is definitely the one it worked on everything I needed to break down an AR-15 buttstock and the rest of the base like I said I didn't even know these things existed but they sure do work and this one is about as heavy duty as you can want it it weighs a ton and it looks pretty cool there are other sizes on there that I haven't had to use the other parts of the wrench yet but I probably will and now I'm ready. anybody that's interested in this I definitely recommend it I don't know what else it does but it certainly works on an AR-15 I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to work on their AR-15 with it. ... show more

    • Not really sure how accurate the tolerances are.
It is heavy duty and has all the functions you would expect on a generic armorers wrench/spanner. I did check how it fit on a number of parts with out trying to do any disassembly. But did have an issue with fit on castle nut for the removal of a buffer tube. For me this does call into question how accurate the tolerances may be. Since it was just a hair to tight to fit the castle nut I used a file to touch up that part of the wrench and was able to get it to fit. The steel of the wrench is quite hard which is a must since it usually takes quite a bit of torque for disassembly of the type of parts this wrench would usually be used on. ... show more

This does the job for my build. Feels sturdy enough with use. Rubber grip does not have any slippage while torquing the castle nut.
