Excellent tool. If you are in search of a wrench that can be used to remove the first generation Midwest Industries barrel nut, this is it. If your barrel nut looks like the one in the image, this tool works perfectly. Other than fitting the barrel nut perfectly, it is a heavy solid tool that I'm sure will stand up to abuse, and the rubber handle is very comfortable.     • Poor fitment for high quality brand parts
Fit for the castle nut is poor, marred the aluminum threads on the buffer tube. The wrench only works for a basic A2 Birdcage flats. Any modern isle device for high end suppressor mounts are too big for this wrench. So it’s pretty much useless for me.

I specifically bought this for changing a barrel (haven’t don’t that yet) but used it to tighten the buffer tube castle nut on my MSR. After use I was very disappointed to see that the wrench’s tabs/lugs were too long and actually marred the threads on my buffer tube when I tightened the castle nut. Spent 10 minutes or so with a file to remove material from the tool’s tabs/lugs to prevent this from happening again. So disappointed though that I simply bought another specific tool just for castle nuts. Hoping the barrel nut portion of this tool is better but I think I’m going to be disappointed with it as well. There are better, albeit more expensive, tools available to buy on the internet. Specifically the one made by the popular polymer MSR magazine manufacturer PM*G. I’d recommend you buy it rather than this one. ... show more
