I've been looking for a new hair trap since I can no longer obtain a replacement trap brush for the Go Green drain trap I installed years ago. The shaft of the metal brush has long since mostly dissolved and will break the next time I try to clean it. This hair trap is all plastic, so no rusting parts. There are 2 caveats. It's only sized for 1.50 inch diameter pipe. Most bathrooms, which is where I want to install it, use 1.25 inch pipe. I had to purchase a 1.5 inch tailpiece to go to the wall drain since a reducer washer really won't work in my setup because the cross pipe has it's own nut and flange. It will work just fine on the sink downpipe with reducer washers however. I will have to ream out the wall fitting to accept the new 1.5 drain tailpiece adapter, but that's really not an issue for me because I'd rather do that fix than constantly use a snake to pull out giant hair clogs that look like drowned, smelly rats. Ewwww. Not a pleasant job. The other issue that some reviewers have reported is leaks. I discovered on mine that the large front opening with the screw cap is not perfectly flat. An O-ring seal needs a flat surface to reliably seal. So I laid some fine wet/dry sandpaper down on a flat surface and sanded the front of the unit until it was flat and smooth. I also coated the O-ring with silicone grease to keep the rubber from wrinkling when screwing the cap on. No leaks now. Its working fine for me. I do wish the manufacturers would make a 1.25 inch pipe version however, because bathrooms are the place where hair will usually end up down the drain and most U.S. bathrooms are plumbed in 1.25 inch pipe.

These hair traps are So nice.. I’ve owned my salon 25years, and the standard traps lasted almost 20 years, they were a thinner plastic material and white in color(SHOWING NASTY WATER WHEN FULL😩)the dark Grey color on these SLAY❣️

I got these to replace the traps in our general bathroom with two sinks. Reading the description It states universal, but That's not entirely true. It's universal if your using 1 1/2 inch drain pipes, but if like me your installing new faucets as well, they usually all come in 1 1/4 pipe. There is nothing included in this kit which will allow you to assemble this to 1 1/4 pipe. I had to order a "1-1/2 x 1-1/4 inch Reducing slip joint washer" from Amazon that would allow me to install these traps with my current drain pipes included in my brand-new faucet kits. Once you have all the parts, installation is fairly easy and does not require any special tools, aside from maybe a wrench to loosen your existing pipes. Overall, these worked out great, and with kids, these are well-needed to prevent who knows what from going down the drain.

Every few months I need to clean out the p-trap on our bathroom sink. Makeup, hair, soap, etc. clog the path between the sink and the sewer. So decided to install this. It solved my problem. Easy to clean the trap without a lot energy to remove and reinstall. Will probably add this to all five sinks in the house.
