Wires are Polarity sensitive devices are those which require only a specific polarity of magnet to get them actuated. You can run high or slow. Installed two in fireplace will post video Saturday. I only used High. black wire and white wire neutral. Questions feel to ask.

    • Strong, but loud!
I bought this fan to fill one of the two empty spaces next to the two original fans in the fireplace now. Comes with two speeds (black and red wire), and I decided to hook up full speed since I'll be replacing the wall fan switch with a variable in the future. This fan is WAY more powerful than the two original fans! Probably moves more air in second gear than the originals. However, this new fan is also much louder than the originals. The variable dial fan switch was very helpful in quieting the fans down, and they still kick out more air than the old fans. ... show more

    • This is a UNIVERSAL fireplace fan.
This was not a direct replacement so it took awhile to adjust the mounting brackets to fit existing mount. It matched the other existing fan on air output. Overall I am satisfied.

I have an older woodstove and had a really hard time finding one of these fans. This was a exact match to the ones that i had in the blower. I was so happy to find this on here. Its been in the blower a few months now and I have had no issues. If the other one goes out i will order from here again!
