I got this 3" Universal Custom Exhaust Kit for a custom project on my Pathfinder. As someone looking for a cost-effective way to dive into the customized exhaust world, this was a solid starting point. The Good Value for Money: At under $90 for an 8-piece set, it’s hard to beat the price for a DIYer. It includes a variety of angles, though I personally did not need the U-shape pipes for my specific layout. Bend Quality: The mandrel bends are consistent and didn't show signs of collapsing or thinning, which is vital for maintaining exhaust flow. Packaging: I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the packaging; everything arrived well-protected and neatly organized. The Realities of Mild Steel Rust Resistance: Be aware that this is 18-gauge mild steel. Mine actually arrived with some pre-rust on the inside of the tubes. If you live in a salt-heavy area, you’ll definitely want to apply a high-temp coating to improve its longevity. Functionality: While it’s marketed as a weld-up kit, the ease of installation is flexible. Since I’m still a beginner, I installed these using a combination of clamps, joints, and a healthy amount of muffler cement to ensure a leak-free seal. It held up well to the "hack and fit" process. Verdict This is a good kit for a first-timer/beginner who wants to learn the ropes of exhaust routing without spending a fortune on stainless steel. It provides all the necessary ideas and physical pieces to get a custom job done, provided you're okay with a little extra prep work to manage the mild steel finish.

Pairs of 45, 90, and 180* bends with flared ends give you a nice combination of parts to make any configuration. In the real world, these work best if you're able to weld, then just cut the bend where you need it, weld it together to get all sorts of angles and directions. The flared ends allow you to slip the ends over other parts to hold them lined up, some might try to use a clamp over them to hold them but they're really mostly there for ease of fit up and to mate to different sizes you'll find that things like mufflers and converters will have ends that are flared and not flared to act as inlets and outlets and you need to match up piping, and having a selection of ends on piping helps it all work together. The only negative is that this is just bare steel. Not stainless, not aluminized (some steel tubing will have an aluminized coating to prevent rusting). No coating will mean that it will get surface rust quickly or need to be coated to protect it, but it also means it's easier to weld.

This was an exact fit for my 2003 Chevy Silverado. It was past time to fix the exhaust and this more than did the job. The tubing seems to be a high quality steel. It has more than enough angles to meet your needs.

When you pull these out of the box, they look the part - there are marks from the mandrel bending process and some mild rust spots which are to be expected. The sleeves fit well over each other - they're not perfectly circular as you can see the varying gaps around the edges, but this is easy to weld up. It's easier than stainless or aluminized steel to weld - this is plain mild steel. Since it's mild steel, it's going to rust in place - that's okay at this budget I would say - these are 18 gauge which is on the thinner end, but you get a lot of pipe and bends of different orientations for the money - I'd say it's pretty good value. I used this on the exhaust of my car when I added the turbo - it's fine for the price, but it's not going to last forever. So far, so good. It looks fine, fits well, and doesn't break the bank.

As specified and pretty decent thickness. If you live in arid places from South California to Texas and over to South Carolina, these stock as is should be fine for you given you don't often cross wetlands and riverways while offroading. Due to the thickness, I wouldn't suggest having these if you live somewhere with salt water, or commonly salts the road during the winter. If you do, consider rust preventative measures as I think these will suffer poorly in regular wet and salty areas. For what's provided in the kit, you get a good set of pipes to do a nice long single run from a high upstream catalytic converter to your muffler and pipe tip. The pipe set easily connects to each other for welding, the metal is of uniform quality and thickness through out, the price is better than most here selling essentially the same kit with the same spec for far more.

I am reconditioning an older Silverado from the rust belt and the whole system (mufflers, cats, etc) is rusted and falling apart. The previous owner used woolwax rust coating on the frame so the frame and body is actually in really good shape but you can't spray that stuff on exhaust parts so the exhaust systems usually go bad. I have a manual exhaust pipe bender and mig welder so it was really easy to use this kit to replace the system. I straight piped it and got rid of the cats which was fine because Texas doesn't require emissions testing on 1996 and older vehicles. These exhaust pipes are high quality and were a great value.
