I have had these same cargo pants for at least a decade and the old ones are falling apart. It is hard for me to get just the right cargo pants with just the right size pockets. I love my old pair but they are becoming unwearable around the house. They became unwearable in public a year ago. so I decided to see if they still make them and they do. I bought these pair in hopes of getting my original pair back and these are close. The first thing I noticed is a belt. not bad but not a good choice of add-on. I weighed the old pair and the new pair and the new pair is 1.3 OZ lighter even with the added belt. This means either less thick fabric or less fabric. My hold pair has a looser fit around the legs. These new ones are a tighter fit so maybe less fabric there. These are comfortable and have the nice size front pocket and cargo pockets that I like so my initial impression is I will like these. First day wearing them so I will see how it goes but so far so good. If I like them I will buy more in different colors. ... show more

I bought the "UNIONBAY Men's Survivor Belted Cargo Shorts" looking for some inexpensive shorts to do, until I can get the rest of my clothes out of storage. They were lightweight but seem to be fairly well put together other than the belt. The material that the belt is made out of is just too flimsy for use as a belt. It is a sad commentary on what we have come to expect, but I honestly didn't expect the pants to come with a belt. We see deceptive photography so often in ads these days. As such I had already ordered a belt similar in appearance to the one shown in the ad, so I wasn't so disappointed when I saw the flimsy belt. ... show more

I love the utility of cargo shorts, but these also look nice and have a great fit. The matching belt is fantastic as I have used that separately on other casual outfits. I am going to buy more of these in the same color. I have young kids and when going out with them, it is nice to have things at the ready without stuffing the waist pockets or back pockets. To boost, my wife who hates cargo shorts didn't make any negative comments about this one, so I consider that a solid win!! ... show more

I've bought a bunch of these shorts and they have all been fine. Now today I get a pair and no belt. Obviously a return or one of the workers snagged the belt. Me personally I tend to use a different belt so it's not that big of a deal to me. I don't want to go through the hassle of exchanging it. I wish I could get even a few bucks for the missing belt but amazon is just going to tell me I have to return it. It's just funny amazon doesn't check over the returns better. Overall though I like these shorts for the price. They hit at my knee and are not super baggy but aren't tight ether. ... show more

The Good: You and I know that we buy cargo shorts for the pockets. These shorts have pockets on top of pockets on top of pockets! Comfortable fit. Excellent value. Bought again. The Bad: I do not like the belt. I found that the D-rings slide around and the belt comes loose. I thought about dropping my ratings to 4 stars as a slap on the D-ring belt, but I ordered another pair of shorts so I stayed at 5. I wear the shorts with suspenders. Pro's They use Velcro instead of buttons on the pocket flaps, it makes it so much easier to open. Buttons make the flaps wrinkle when not buttoned up. Well stitched, The front pockets are deep, so things won't fall out, well worth the money to me. Con's would be that they are 11 inch inseam, and is over the top part of my knee cap. I prefer a 9 inch inseam. Last time I bought cargo shorts was 15 years ago, and the material is thinner then my old ones. The small front pocket on the left side, made for a key fob doesn't have a Velcro flap, and you could possibly lose your key fob if it were to fall out. The belt looks ok, but I use my own belt.
