I used these to make a scrabble tule project with my family’s names. A few things I didn’t expect were the edges to be finished which they were, the tiles to be so smooth and not need sanding, all uniform in color prior to staining, and to be free of defects. They were a little thinner than I imagined when I bought them, but they are still sturdy enough and all basically flat and not warped despite being pretty thin. I used a minwax stain and then a stencil to paint the letters in acrylic craft paint. Then I finished them all off with minwax polycrylic. The wood took the stain and sealant all well. I definitely will use these again for other craft projects. I think based on how smooth they are if I had used vinyl decals, that would have worked also (I was originally worried if it was “grainy” that vinyl wouldn’t stick so I opted for stencils). I thought buying these precut vs going to the hardware store and having my husband cut a big board would cost me more but I was in a time crunch. But honestly the quality of these and how smooth they were and all the same size was well worth the money and time saved.

Extremely satisfied with the quality of these wood squares. The color of each square was consistent throughout the bundles and only a few had a little color variation on the sides. A few of the squares had a little bit of a bow to them but nothing that I couldn't work around. Every square was cut exactly to size. Smooth finish with little sanding required which made them extremely easy to paint on. Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive to purchase online not really knowing if the quality would be the same as advertised but the product I receive exceeded those expectations. Will definitely purchase again.

I saw the scrabble board idea and thought it would be a fun project. I bought this product based upon its description of natural wood. When the product arrived it came in an anti static type storage bag. I was a little disappointed to find they were no soild wood but a sandwich. Thick material in the center sandwiched by two thin natural wood veneers. (See the first picture). There were some that had defects (second and third pictures) and the edges were chipped. I wanted to stain them and they took stain well but the stain made some of them delaminate so I had to glue them back down. When wiping stain off start from the center and wipe outwards because the rag I was using kept catching the edges and splintering. The tiles turned out well and I'm really pleased dispite the snags along the way. They are light weight yet sturdy and don't flex when you work with them. I used 2 sided tape to secure them to my wall and they look great. I would buy this product again for future projects.

These we’re exactly what I needed to make a scrabble tile wall decor project. They were the perfect size and depth. I was able to hang them with a small command strip without them falling off which was important for me. I stained and painted some of them. I will say that the paint worked much better as the wood is not superior quality but it was good enough for my project. Originally I tried to use a gray stain but it came out very yellowy due to the color of the wood. Ignore the scratches in the picture that I attached this was just a sample for sizing. Overall I would definitely use these again for the price and the amount you got for the price.
