This was a beautiful story full of sadness, happiness, and love. I loved all the characters and the pets in this story. I have to say the author did a great job with the storyline. I felt like the reader were with the main characters as they went through the ordeal of crashing, and surviving on island while waiting to be rescued. I especially liked the epilogue. Under the Sitka Sky was a striking story set in what looks like a wonderful area. The description of the islands, landscapes and community was one of the highlights of the book. I’m not usually leaning toward adventure stories that revolves around characters getting lost and stranded alone on an island, but I very much enjoyed this book and I don’t regret taking a chance on it. It helped that Violet Morley is an author I enjoy reading. Cam is not your usual MC. She is a bit more detached and seems to have a complicated relationship with social interactions (relatable) but I liked her. Skyler is a gem. She is the queen of pining-after-your-crush-for-ages. She spent years with a “hidden and unrequired” love for Cam but she also was a rock during their stranded adventure. Her relationship with Goose is just adorable. Goose also added a fun and loving touch to the story. The other characters and the community they form also added another dimension to the book which I very much enjoyed. Special mention for Nanna Winnie and her faith in Cam and Skyler ending up together. ... show more

I just wish I could give the words to express this brilliantly written story. From page one the characters grabbed my heart and I held on tightly. Cam and Skyler just have the most beautiful connection and to feel it grow throughout the book was priceless. I loved Skyler and the gentle way she brings together so much love-life giving comfort. Their experience was an adventure that brings friendship to a level of understanding their true connection. Micah, Lily, Maggie and Aunt Abby bring so much to the depth of this family. The dialogue is funny, so real and oh so heartfelt. We all need a Nana Winnie in our life and she is the steadfast love for this group of people who are home for each other. In case I have not been CLEAR I LOVE THIS STORY. Author Violet Morley is someone I will be excitingly be wait for her next book. ... show more

    • Had high hopes

Sprinkled in the Stars is one of my top 15 favorite books so I gave this wilderness adventure a shot. Unfortunately, I didn't really connect with the leading ladies. HS crush turned adult adulation was a bit stretched for me and the profuse declaration of love from the adored before they'd dated or got to know one another made my eye twitch a bit. The reunion, the celebration of life, plane crash, surviving in the wilderness, the supporting characters, then the HEA... I just wasn't on board, I guess. The epilogue was sweet and there are some great quotes in the book, but overall, a wee bit too much going on without anything going on. ... show more

This is the 2nd novel by this author. The first was so good I didn't know how Violet would top it. But she did. There is so much in this story. Cam and Skyler were meant to be. Cam just had to realize it. But this is not just a romance. There is adventure. Family and friends. Beautiful nature. Goose one of the greatest dogs ever along with Raven the cat. And Skyler is such a sweet strong character. She has loved Cam for so long she knows how to let Cam process. I have to stop. I dont want to give away anymore. But there is much more. I didn't enjoy this story as much as the author's first book, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a lot to like her. Give it a go. I doubt you'll be dissapointed.

Format: Kindle
This story was well written with a good amount of drama with the plane crash and the unrequited love of a 14 year old as well as a woman with relationship issues. All of these problems were addressed by the main characters and then the writer included issues concerning supporting characters that connected the whole story together. The issues humanized the story and made the drama bearable and the love story real. A truly wonderful story to read and great for me to recommend to everyone else for reading. ... show more
