One of the best design books! The ideas and solutions for designing a kitchen could also apply to other rooms in a house. Great tips! And, what a relief to see unique kitchens with "soul" and personality, instead of the carbon/cookie-cutter (latest trend) kitchens in magazine and real estate ads.

I am getting ready to remodel my kitchen and this book gave me a lot of fresh ideas. I was disappointed that there is no list of resources at the back of the book. I loved the purple linoleum floors, but it would have been even better if sources were listed for each kitchen. The author featured kitchens from a wide range of places, not just LA, New York and London. I loved the kitchen in Sacramento, which is close to where I live. ... show more

I appreciate that this book had plenty of beautiful photos, but also writing that isn't just fluff. There are ideas in here that don't necessarily require having a ton of money or doing a gut renovation. All in all, one of the better interior design/decor books I've found.
