I ordered the Nail Dehydrator and Primer Set, Leak-Proof Glass Bottle Nail Prep for Acrylic Nails and Gel Polish, HEMA-Free Acid-Free Air Dry Manicure Supplies, 2x10ml by UNA GELLA because I only have one dehydrator and primer set and it's almost gone! The current price is $5.99, which is the lowest price in the 30-day period – a great deal compared to the list price of $12.99. These products come in very nice glass bottles with perfectly sized high quality brushes for application. If you've never used it, it applies like polish before the base coat gel. Product goes on smoothly and even though I have small nailbeds it was easy to maneuver the brushes to not get any on my skin. The dehydrator works like formulations I've used in the past – it evaporates quickly, and sometimes I had to dip in the bottle more than once per nail. Since the liquid is thin and runny this is normal. No photo of it because it evaporated too fast and looked just like my natural nails. Once I began to apply the primer, it was a different story: I had way more on my brush than necessary. Given the shape of the brush I was able to tap excess off back into the bottle. There is a faint odor which reminds me of pine, I've smelled it in nail products like this before so it didn't surprise me. It's kind of nice actually compared to the chemically scent of typical polish. Each product has separate drying times. The dehydrator only needs a few seconds, but I always wait a bit longer anyway just to make sure. The primer requires closer to a minute. You don't have to cure the primer, just the base coat which follows. One thing that could be improved is the instructions are on the boxes. These bottles are decently sized so I feel like the instructions would have fit on the bottles, but instead I have to save the boxes I ripped apart trying to open. Maybe Una Gella will consider this in the future. I'm a huge fan of this product otherwise: it's day six of gel nails for me and the application is solid. My nails feel super strong and protected (which is more than can be said on the day I had to rip open those boxes in fear of breaking a nail). It's a great value set so I will be ordering from this brand again.

I am pleased with these so far. Normally, I use rubbing alcohol as a dehydrator, as I read on many beauty sites that it is the same. But this dehydrator seems to work better, creating a base that I can then Place primer on top of. I don’t get my nails done, professionally, as I am a guitar player and a tomboy, so I can only do my own nails occasionally when going to an event or something. And it’s usually black. But it is obviously important to have color/polish that stays, doesn’t ship immediately, and looks even and high-quality. I have learned over the many years doing my own nails, how important it is to have a primer, before starting in with polish. But a big part of primer is also having dehydrator underneath it, otherwise the oils will affect the primer and the rest of the products after that. This is a really good price as well, so I do recommend it. If you use these two, plus a gel polish, and really good topcoat, your DIY nail job should last at least a few solid days in a row. I washed my hands nonstop because of my job, so that does affect how long my color stays. But with these underneath my product, it absolutely makes a difference in longevity and quality.

This product exceeded my expectations. The bottles feel high quality with a nice glass design and secure caps that do not leak. It looks clean and professional, not cheap at all. Both the dehydrator and primer work really well. They prep the nails properly and help the polish adhere better. I noticed my manicure lasts longer with less lifting, which is exactly what you want from a set like this. Application is easy and quick. The brushes are smooth and give good control without applying too much product. It dries fast and does not leave a sticky or uncomfortable feeling. I also like that it is HEMA free and acid free, which makes it feel safer and less harsh on the nails compared to other options. Overall, this is a great value for the price. Good quality, easy to use, and very effective. Definitely a 5 star product.

I checked out similar HEMA-free dehydrator + primer sets, and this is a pretty solid basic nail prep combo for at-home nails. Easy to use... The UNA GELLA Nail Dehydrator & Primer Set (2x10ml) is meant to be a two-step prep system: the dehydrator removes oils and moisture from the nail, and the acid-free primer helps gel, acrylic, or press-ons stick better so they don’t lift early. This type of combo is especially popular for press-ons and gel sets where retention is the biggest issue. What people generally like about products like this is that they’re HEMA-free and acid-free, so they tend to be gentler on nails and less harsh-smelling than stronger primers. The glass bottles are also a nice touch because they help reduce evaporation and make it feel a bit more “salon grade.” From real-world use patterns with similar kits, the biggest benefit is better adhesion and less lifting when nail prep is done properly (buffing, cleaning, no oils). But it’s important to know the primer isn’t magic—if prep is rushed or nails are oily, even good primers won’t fully prevent lifting.
