Just to start, that i am a fan of UMIDIGI products. I already have few phones and i am using their products for more than few years. Now coming back to UMIDIGI Power5. UMIDIGI phone software has eveolved and now its very stable, no bugs, no restarts, no apps closing for no reason. It is running the lastest android stable version, it has 128gb of storage plus a microSd slot. The battery is massive and it is long lasting, you can use it for two with one chaege. It is well built, no cracking sounds no button rattling, just fine. I can't stress enough how convenient is that a phone this cheap, with all this features comes with excellent software, no bloatware, no ads, no nasty surprises. Just insert your sim card and you are good to go. The cameras (wide and ultrawide) take fine pictures. In the box you get a clear plastic case, cable and charger. The plastic back seems to hide fingerprints, and helps with the grip, the tpu case also makes it easy to hold, which is very welcome gift as this is a thick and heavy phone (because of the big battery). I just love it, the screen is nice to look at, the long battery life is obviously the most remarkable feature, but being unlocked and compatible with all the carriers is also commendable. Cameras are decent, video can be more finicky, but still pictures are fine. Fingerprint is very reliable. The phone covers all the basics 3.5mm jack, radio, microSd, dual sim, usb type C, and everything works as it should be. The extras are very welcome, thermometer works as intended, the battery life is amazing, 128gb of onboard storage is hard to find at this price, the software is clean and works flawlessly, a very no nonsense approach. ... show more

I bought this to replace a 2018 Huawei Mate SE that had a swollen battery so large that the phone opened and the screen lifted off the device. The Umidigi Power 5 is less responsive, holds a charge for less than a day and could not maintain the connection with my network for more than a few seconds at a time. The screen is large and quite sharp. Wifi connectivity is great. The fingerprint reader and the thermometer were nice features but these are not enough for me to want to use this phone. I ended up getting the old Huawei repaired as it seems to be a far better performing phone. ... show more

This phone like many from this company are more tailored to the budget side and the budget market but that does not mean they skimp on important features like quick charging a sturdy body and the newest and bloat free version of Android the camera on this phone isn't anything spectacular however it is an upgrade over most phones you can find inside of a store like a Walmart or a Target the battery life on it is spectacular it can last almost up to two days without needing charged and comes with plenty of storage out of the box so that you can put as many games as your heart wants on there. The only real cons of this phone are the camera quality considering the price and potentially the ram but overall functionality of the phone is Rock solid game performance is pretty good for the processor and the ram that this phone is equipped with. Overall would buy again as an upgrade or a backup phone. ... show more

    • Fingerprint sensor/reader failed at ONE WEEK!!!

I rely on the fingerprint sensor/reader to unlock my phone every single time I use it, so to have one totally fail at ONE WEEK of use is a complete deal breaker. Yep, after one week of use this thing was no longer registering fingerprints at all, in fact the phone stopped recognizing that it even had a fingerprint sensor on board, which points to it being a hardware issue that can't be fixed at home. If you search for "umidigi power 5 fingerprints not working", you will see that this is a common issue with this phone as well as other Umidigi models. Besides, even when the little side-mounted fingerprint reader was functional (for 6 days), it was very hit-or-miss when using it, so it was clear that this phone probably wouldn't have been a good long-term investment. The other major gripe with the phone is the notifications/call volume being the same setting, so if you want notifications to be silent but still would like to hear incoming calls, you have to adjust the settings for every single app to be silent and low-priority... no idea if this is the standard on new phones, but my old phone had a separate slider for notification volume. As a bit of a sidenote, you will have to install an alternative app launcher if you wish to not have a big, ugly Google search bar right on your home screen, because this phone is intended to be used entirely with Google products out of the box. Also, the point needs to be made that the battery is certainly not 3 days... in fact I'm charging it regularly every day unless I want to be below 50% on day 2... and this is on light-to-intermediate usage mostly involving offline music playback. It's a shame they couldn't get this phone right for me, but I will say; if you don't need a fingerprint reader or silent notifications, this is a pretty good phone for the price point. The display, performance, and built-in thermometer are all big positives. For me, however, it was a failed attempt to save some money and now I will have to go with a more expensive phone from a name brand, which hopefully won't fail in quite so many ways... ... show more
