Description

Otto’s sleek profile and matte finish look great in any kitchen, bathroom or entryway space. The innovative sensor pump technology automatically dispenses a fixed amount of liquid soap – not too much, not too little - helping reduce waste and saving you money on supply costs. Otto’s fluid level indicator window lets you see when it’s time to refill and the large, top-load refill opening makes topping it up quick and easy. Operating on four AAA batteries (not included), Otto measures 3.5 x 4.5 x 10 inches (8.9 x 11. 11.4 x 25.4 cm). IMPORTANT INFORMATION: After inserting the batteries, if the blue light comes on and you hear the motor but the soap doesn’t dispense, try pouring the soap into a separate container, then fill the pump with hot water (not boiling) and let sit for 5-10 minutes until cool. Put your hand in front of the motion sensor and repeat until the water starts to flow well. Now empty the water and refill the pump with soap. If you find the brand of soap you have purchased is too thick, try adding some water to thin it out. I bought 3 of these units over the time of last 4 months and all the units stopped working. First purchase (unit:1): The pump was not working and had to replace that unit. Replacement (unit:2) the soap started leaking from the bottom of the unit. Had to call Amazon to replace it. Replacement (unit:3) one day after the return window (14 days) this 3rd unit also started leaking soap from the bottom. New order (unit4) I ordered one more unit for another bathroom and that unit also not working. The pump works but is is unable to pick up any soap. ... show more

I must admit, I never write reviews till it was recently brought to my attention on how important and the difference they make on the success of a product. This is my 2nd review and this product is worth writing one. Ive tried many all have failed. Umbra has never failed w all 8 purchased for self and friends! My oldest is now 7 years old. The original smaller size and still going strong. Excellent value, pricing on a preciously perfect product. Sensor still working strong as intended. For those w the bad reviews, Honestly I dont understand? Maybe a bad lot of them but all mine have proven to be quality, precise w little effort. Sometimes it gets clogged but an easy fix as any pump would (manual or otherwise). When I completely reno'd my kitchen, I felt my kitchen too deserved the latest Umbra auto dispenser, I purchased directly from their site w a new updated, fun look. Two years later still going strong. Its like the 3nergizer Bunny! Still clapping, but in this case still dispensing. Ive never been disappointed w this brand in any product they put on the market. All my friends loved theirs too and eventually purchased more to have one in every room w a faucet. I highly recommend this product. My title sums my feelings up. I've ordered quite a few of these over 7 years, and the working ones do hold up. I have one in my kitchen that is 7 years old now. I have on occasion gotten duds that never dispense soap. This past October 2023 I ordered three for my new home and one will not work. Unfortunately the return window closed before I found out. So if you do purchase this brand I recommend testing immediately. While they take batteries, I have been fortunate mine only require changing once a year. They are not high capacity, but that's nice for those who want to switch between different soap scents or types. I found these can't handle too thick soaps. ... show more

    • Warning need a VERY small screwdriver

I spent 25k to remodel my bathroom and wanted the coolest things available. I recalled that I have spent my life hanging out in expensive homes and have never seen one with an automatic soap dispenser in the bathroom. I bought this one due to good reviews and the fact that it was tall and low profile. I was so psyched when it arrived only to find out that it needs a very very small screwdriver for the one cheap screw on the battery cover. I am a huge home project person and literally have a toolbox just for screwdrivers, at least 40 different ones, and I did not have one small enough for this screw. It uses the size that repairs glasses. I had to buy a screwdriver just to use this product, and a new screw because it stripped after the second incorrect screwdriver. Once it was together it works great and looks great, but the screw size issue is maddening and gives it the low ratiin UPDATE: one month later and it completely stopped working. In the trash now. And I gave it the best batteries and cleaned the nozzle and sensor every day ... show more

I have several Umbra products in my home and they have been a go-to company for me, but this product is an utter disappointment. I put liquid dishwashing detergent in it as it advertises it is designed for. It requires multiple times to activate and then, when it does, barely dispenses any quantity at all so one needs to repeat the process multiple times and then struggle with enough to clean a dish, let alone a pot or pan. I seldom post reviews, especially poor ones but feel compelled to do so in this situation because return of the item was rejected. As I tried various liquids to test if that was the problem, I was delayed in returning it. Item was ordered Sept 9 and it is Oct 24. Amazon referred me to the seller who referred me back to Amazon, so no satisfaction with a return. I purchased a Simply Human automatic dispenser and it works great, USB rechargeable, attractive; so consider that item instead. ... show more

I love how they look and they dispense the perfect amount of soap. If they stop working, just take a toothpick and clean the clogged soap from the dispense hole and they’re good to go. We use them every day and the batteries seem to last 4 to 5 months ! I was thrilled to see them at a discounted price and recently bought one more.
