I wanted to use this for a bit, before reviewing. What a wonderful bang for the bucks! One cannot go wrong here, easy to put together, great quality for the money spent, came with enough to get you going, though you may want to invest in some 1/4 bits. Seems sturdy enough to do what I need. For my first CNC machine, I am blown away with the quality. I looked at some more expensive machines nowhere near the quality of this one. Like everrything, YMMV... The one time I contacted customer service with a trivial question, the were back with me the next day... A tip: DO invest in a good vacuum system. ... show more

I'll start with the biggest con on this. The main one is rigidity, if you plan on making a big CNC router. It'll probably be fine with a trim router and shallow passes. But the odd thing with this unit is that it has added rigidity in the shorter gantry section by adding a shaft, but not so much as increased diameter in the other two to help stiffen it up some. Now, that stated, this is otherwise a well engineered piece of gear and it is quite large. I slapped this together on the table of a larger CNC router to test it out, and everything lined up and seemed well thought out for an easy and fast assembly. Inclusion of a precision spacer piece would have made the setup a bit more foolproof, but for the price, some good measurements do just as well. I bought this to use as the motion system for a 1500w metal cutting laser, so high rigidity isn't as important. For this purpose, it should be amazing. While I haven't gotten that far in the process, I did set up some free laser-specific GRBL software for testing, and it worked well once I changed some internal settings. At first, I thought the travel speeds would be too slow, but after the settings tweaks, this moves plenty fast and doesn't appear to have any accuracy or repeatability issues at high speed! The laser option on the control box will also likely come in very handy for automating the laser turn-on signal. All in all, it's a heavy duty and large machine with good value for the right application. Just work within it's limits and you won't be disappointed. ... show more

For what I paid, this is very usable, no problem figuring out how to add a laser head despite no pinouts or wiring diagrams. Assembly was easy by myself with no help.

This was very easy to put together, I have already used it and it cut awesome. Very good cnc for the price and would recommend to anybody looking to get into cnc. Was hoping it would have come with a spindle router instead of a palm but I just ordered a spindle one and will see how it works

Still putting table together, unit is built better than expected. Wanted a machine that used a common router head, this is it. All metal parts, plastic wire tray. Very happy. Expecting to cut wood and plastic.
