I linked the phone (brand new) to my new Ultrahuman Air Ring Feb 28. It was fine - I felt like I was learning to process the numbers it was spitting out. Fast forward to March 7, there have been two updates already from Ultrahuman in the past week, and now it's sluggish connecting to the app. The data doesn't pop up unless I close the app several times and re-start the app on my phone. March 9, I try to pull up the app, and it won't load at all. Sunday, after charging ring from 70% to 100% it opens the app just fine, but my steps don't match what I had seen before on the previous three days. Numbers went down on Friday's steps, by 1000 steps. Numbers went up on Saturday's steps, by 1000. That's weird, but I shrugged it off. Later in the day (an hour later), the app won't open. I turn off the phone, board my flight, and restart the phone on the other end of the journey. The app reports a ridiculously low number of steps for slogging through two airports. (1,039 steps?) Later in the day, I try to open the app and again, it won't open. The next day is Monday. I try to open the app after my workout, but it won't load. I restart the phone. No app. I sync the app/ring. I hit the soft reset. After restarting the phone for the 3rd time, and several more sync attempts and soft reset's, I finally hit the "Set up New Ring" to disconnect and reconnect to the ring. Then I restart my phone. Getting more data now - but the app still thinks it's Sunday and not Monday. The step count for the last 5 days is jumping around by 1000 steps - give or take from any particular day. I've reached out to Support twice now, but they're on India Time Zone, so they're sleeping, and I'm frustrated after wasting half my day trying to get my new-ish ring to sync to the App so I can see my workout data and anything from Sunday, since apparently, Sunday has fallen in a black hole. When this app syncs up to the Ring, it's great. Still don't know what half the numbers mean, but you get a lot of data, and a lot of cute advice; "Hey, you might want to think about recharging today with light activity, your sleep numbers are low." (Yes, I was sleep deprived, so it was very accurate). I just want it to give me all the data I was seeing a week ago, and not the mish-mash of imaginary stuff it seems to be spitting out (or not spitting out at all, in this case), for the last four days. I've asked Support if I have a defective ring how I go about getting it replaced. When it works, I'd be happy to give it five stars, unfortunately, it's having electronic Alzheimer's, and I'm annoyed enough that I give it no stars. UPDATE: The update that was eventually sent out 24 hours after Support said it was already updated, finally made the Ring and App realize what day it actually was. The numbers didn't correct themselves back the original step counts, but hey, 1,000 steps off is no big deal, right? Now, I still don't have any interaction with the "How are you feeling" section of the app - not sure it I'm supposed to be able to select one of the three choices, but why ask if it won't let me answer? I still don't understand some of the numbers that pop up for some of the other sections, but that's probably my fault and I need to google something to find out more (the app doesn't offer any insights). So, I'm upgrading from no stars to 3 stars. I deduct two stars because I have to do research outside of the app to figure out what the numbers mean on these sections that make no sense. Plus, there's no way to get rid of the ads. The one that says, "Refer a friend", and "Ring Store" - if I wanted a t-shirt I'd get one, but I don't need to see that on the first page of my app every single time I open the darn thing. Ditto with "refer a friend". Bury that stuff deeper in the app, please. Ugh. The ring is comfy, and it's easy to pop it on the charger while I shower, so it stays around 70-80% charged. Also, it doesn't look too terrible next to my wedding rings, (I got the silver tone). UPDATE #2; Turns out it's not intuitive to hit the tiny dot and drag it for the "How are you feeling" section, but when you do that, it works as intended. I tried tapping the dot I wanted to select, not drag it from it's current position to a new one. Silly me. (So, not intuitive? Or can I blame being an old lady?) There's been another update, and a few things look a little different ... and I'm learning how to drill down and get more information than before, so ever so slowly, I'm figuring this Ring app out. The workout stuff I'd prefer to see on the first page instead of buried deeper in the app, and in my tiny little opinion, I'd like to see a workout that specified "Treadmill" and "Weight Lifting", instead of the closest thing of "cross training" which I don't think my workout qualifies as cross training. I still want the ads to go away. Very annoying. Which is why it's been upgraded to four stars but not five. I'm sure a six year old would have been able to navigate this thing like a champ. As someone who grew up with a rotary dial phone, this app is not easy to navigate, or "just know" how to drill down, or flip, or slide, or drag, in all the different sections to get more info. It'd be nice if it was the same "drill/drag/slide/fling/tap" action to get more info in all of the sections instead of some secret "ABAB-left-right-up-down-up-down-ABAB-start" code that only an 11 year old can memorize .... Oh, what? Me being an old lady again? Oops. I'm trying to be cool with my "Ring Air", but I think the gray hair is throwing off the vibe. Bottom line? After almost a month of exploring the Ring, I find that I need to toss the Ring on the charger every other morning while I shower to keep it around 70-80% charged. If it drops to 30$ you get warning notices (nice - I appreciate that). It's not too bulky on my finger. I wear it at the gym, but I use fingerless gloves, which protects it from getting scratched up by the knurling on the bars. I wear it in the shower and while hand washing dishes. I probably won't wear it scuba diving since they say to avoid more than 30 minutes submerged, and my dives usually last almost an hour. Support through the app has been amazingly helpful - they've been responsive, and then followed up later to make sure all is okay. Very impressive! I continue to explore the app and try to learn how to navigate the different sections correctly and fully - a lot of drilling down menus I'm discovering. I chose this Ring over the Oura because it didn't require a subscription, and it was the slimmest profile. Now I'm impressed by the support team - they were VERY helpful! And my learning curve which is glacial, is feeling pretty speedy in this scenario. At this point, I can highly recommend the Ring. UPDATE #3: (April 2024) After roughly 2 months, I've realized that my battery hits 15% in about a day and a half. I try to toss it on the charger every morning while I shower to keep it around 80 - 100% to start the day. The ring rapidly loses 20% before lunch, and after 24 hours, it's at 50%. The battery does not last a week as advertised. I lose almost 50% every day, so it's best to charge it daily. This is annoying on a daily basis, when the advertised time is almost a week, but, *shrug* what can you do? The other issue is that I do a "soft reset" often. Sometimes several times in a row because the app says "Ring not found". So I hit the 'soft reset' and then 'restart' the cell phone, too. It often takes several attempts before the ring is "found" by the app. A bit frustrating, yes. After it's connected, then I get all of my data = sleep scores and steps just fine. ... show more

4 APR 2024 update Here is an update on my experience after receiving my replacement Ring. 1. **Improved Battery Life:** One of the most notable improvements with the replacement ring is battery life. While it still falls short of the advertised six days, I'm now comfortably getting around four days with no issues. It's a significant enhancement from before, making the device much more practical for daily use. 2. **Consistent Outstanding Customer Service:** I'm pleased to report that Ultrahuman's customer service continues to shine. They've been responsive and helpful whenever I've had inquiries or issues, maintaining a high support standard. 3. **Skin Temperature Reading Still Inaccurate:** Unfortunately, the issue with skin temperature readings persists. Despite hopes for improvement, the readings remain unreliable, often showing my body temps in the 70-degree range. However, I've noticed that the presentation of this data in the app has changed. It indicates if readings are off the baseline, similar to other devices like the Apple Watch and Oura Ring. While this doesn't fix the underlying problem, it does make it less conspicuous. 4. **Surprisingly Resistant to Scratches:** This replacement ring's durability is an unexpected positive. Unlike my previous experience, scratches haven't been an issue with this new ring. Despite daily wear, it's held up well, which is a welcome surprise. Certainly not scratch-free, but better than expected. 5. **Active CEO/Team Presence:** The Ultrahuman team's presence on platforms like Reddit remains commendable. Hosting an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session a month ago demonstrates their commitment to engaging with the community and addressing concerns directly. Although I missed the AMA, I've followed up on the discussions, and it's reassuring to see such active involvement from the leadership. 6. **Firmware Updates and Battery Life Enhancements:** Recently, a firmware update was pushed to the ring, promising improvements to battery life. While it's too early to confirm its effectiveness, it's a positive sign that Ultrahuman is actively working to enhance the performance of its device. I'll monitor closely to see if this update delivers on its promises. The improvements in battery life and customer service are particularly noteworthy, although the persistent issue with skin temperature readings remains a concern. Nevertheless, with ongoing updates and a responsive team behind the product, I remain optimistic about its future performance and utility. 7 MAR 2024 update Customer service has been great. I mean damn great. So I will continue to allow them to make it right. We will see if my experience is changed with the replacement ring. Sadly this replacement ring is 1-2 weeks out. So I’m forced to live with bad body temperature data and daily charging until then. I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience using the Ultrahuman Ring Air. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite challenging, with two significant issues. Problem 1: The skin temperature readings consistently show in the 70s and 80s, which seems abnormal. I understand that your team has mentioned it might capture ambient room temperatures, but this aligns differently from other competitive products I've compared it to. I'm concerned that inaccurate skin temperature readings impact the overall data and health scores, potentially affecting the product's reliability. Problem 2: The battery drainage has been a persistent issue, dropping from 100% to 30% within a few hours on different days. I've had to perform factory resets and reach out for support, which has been inconvenient and frustrating. Given these challenges, I'm leaning towards returning the product at the end of this week. I cannot recommend it based on my experience. These issues can be addressed to enhance the functionality and reliability of the Ultrahuman Ring Air for future customers. ... show more

  • Doesn't perform its primary function
Size: 12 Color: Aster Black
Apparently the HR tracking, especially during exercise is completely off! comparing against other sources (Apple Watch) it gives readings that are 20-30 BPM lower than actual, and in fact I've never seen it measure above 126, even during extreme workouts that are clearly above 160! Furthermore, to try to decieve the average user, when there's another source of HR data (my apple watch updates Apple Health ecosystem) - once the data is available on Apple Health, the UH app retrieves it from there and presents this data on the app as though measure by the ring !!! That's deceptive and borderline fraudulent !!! Showing side by side summaries for the same workout, after blocking the option to read data from Apple Health. As for battery life - not close to the declared 6 days. 3.5 days at best. ... show more

I originally jumped into the health and wellness ring space with a different ring marketed toward women that hurt my finger due to little bumps inside, took months to ship, and ultimately did not give any actionable data around sleep. I returned and switched to Ultrahuman, received quickly via Amazon, it didn’t irritate my finger, and there is a ton of data! I loved so much I ordered one as a gift for my husband and plan on getting my mom one too. It’s a great non-subscription product! 100% recommend ... show more
