UPDATE.... Amazon gladly replaced the aquarium. The glass is so thick. Tank is gorgeous, I love it! The packaging was the same cheap way as the first one, but somehow made it undamaged. Would have been beautiful! Was not even close to being properly protected especially the bottom which has nothing. The glass is/was gorgeous and very thick. The corners and seams are beautiful as well. Idk if I should go through the wait again if the packaging will be the same.

I wanted to make a nano orchidarium that would just be for plants, but occasionally, for display of poison dart frogs for educational display. As such, it was important for me to have a lid to this, so I was pleased with the inclusion of a glass lid. But, upon getting this, I was a little disappointed that the lid left something to be desired. It does not have a tight fit at all. Not even close to tight. If the plastic wing is put on the back (which is great to be able to cut holes to allow tubes through to maintain a seal), there is probably a 1/4"-3/8" gap around the front and size - maybe larger. Since this is a vivarium, I wanted to have a pretty good seal around it - particularly if I was going to put frogs that could climb out of it. I am still trying to figure out what I will ultimately do - silicone tubing around the edge to keep the seal or laser cut a top. I know that this was not marketed as a vivarium, but I think I would worry a little bit about the top with an aquarium (seems like it would be easy to drop in the tank). Other than that, I'm pleased with this. It is exactly what I'm looking for for a tank for an orchidarium. The finished product looks great.

CRUCIAL UPDATE: After a short 48 hours I walked past the tank and identified a pool of water. It is leaking from the back side panel connection. BE AWARE 21 gallon version! $200 for a leaking tank that was beautiful for a short time. I really like this tank size. It is super heavy and sturdy. My lid did not come broken and I truthfully love the style because it has room for my plants to grow out of it. The cleaning cloth is nice, it’s a big size and gets the glass squeaky clean. All that said my tank (21 gallon) did not appear to come with an actual mat. At first I was confused because there was a white fabric that sort of fit the tank but was short. I went back to the description and saw the mat that’s included (according to the picture) is black but I don’t have any black neoprene mat with my tank which is majorly upsetting because I need a mat since this is a rimless tank. So now I have to order a mat that fits the tank but overall the tank itself is gorgeous so far.

The clarity is absolutely worth the money and being rimless makes a huge difference. It comes packed really well, so I can’t imagine it arriving damaged. No leaks, and seems every bit as sturdy as rimmed aquariums. I’ve seen complaints that low-iron glass scratches more easily. I think that might be slightly true, but I think it’s mostly just that the clarity makes scratches more obvious. Haven’t had any problems with the magnetic glass scrubber, but the plastic brackets the lid rests on have left scratches.

Gorgeous tank for good price (21 gallon). Had no problem with glass top edges. Just heavy for a lid. I usually DIY lids with acrylic and mesh. I deal with evaporation issues, but this all glass top is great. I set tank up by myself, with filter and lights and heater, planted a few plants in substrate. Husband and son lifted tank onto stand. It was IMMACULATELY packed. Looks clear and beautiful on day two. Will move angelfish pair in there (they're still young) when tank is cycled. Totally happy. These clear tanks were made for aqua-sculpting. Love it. Will update when finished.

The tank itself is very high quality in terms of the glass and materials, and support is very responsive and helpful, but be careful if you are planning on keeping nano fish or cherry shrimp. The design of the all-in-one versions of this aquarium are not suitable for small fish and they will get sucked into the filtration chambers depending on your setup, as there is an intake on both the top and bottom. Only the bottom intake comes with a cover and even then juvenile and even adult neocaridina can fit through it without issue. Several modifications or additional equipment is needed to try and make things safer, and even then I am still struggling to find the right balance between pre-filtering and keeping the water flowing at an acceptable rate. The filter boxes themselves feel cheap and can probably be replaced. It would also be nice if the filtration chambers were clear so that you could actually see inside of them easily. If you are purchasing a standard tank that is not AIO, you should be fine.
