Pros: - Super lightweight. - On the fly adjustments, I didn’t realize how much I’d like that. I always thought, set it and forget it, but breathing changes, weight of the pack adjusts with more/less water and gear during the run. - Bottles are *pretty* good… more on that below. They don’t leak, they stay open to dry out after use, and slide into the pack to fit well. - It’s hard to find a perfect vest. This one is very good. Cons: - I wore it w/o a shirt and have a scab from the vest connecter scraping my skin. This on only a 4 mile run. I’ll tape that piece if I run shirtless again. - The pockets are ok. I can’t put my phone in the side pocket because I sweat all over it. I can reach into one on the back w/o removing the back, but it’s tricky with all the cords getting in the way back there. I’d complain about the cords for sure, but perhaps they’ll come in handy someday? - Biggest complaint is the bottle flopping around. The pocket on the right side seems to be an inch shorter than the one on the left, and that inch makes the difference of the lid flipping up and down once I’ve drunk some of the bottle. It’s annoying to flop around, mostly because it feels like it’ll come out, or that the bottle is getting creased. I wish those bottle pockets were just a tad deeper. ******UPDATE******* I've run many miles now with this vest. The longest run was 20 miles with 4500ft of vert, and this bag is great. I figured out the bottle issue was user error. You need to ensure the bottle is all the way down in the pocket, if it's not, it will flop. Also, you need to cinch the cord at the top of the pocket. Because it needs to be perfectly inserted, I tend to just bend my neck and drink with the bottles still in the pockets and that works fine. The bite and pull keeps the bottles from leaking, it's great! I love being able to adjust the tightness on the go. For some reason, I need to tighten more over the course of the run. I wish I could more easily zip/unzip the pockets on the back w/o taking the vest off... I manage, but it's awkward and takes a lot of failed attempts at finding the zipper with a extra stretch of my arm. I often get lost back there with the elastic straps in the way.

I am an avid runner. I have used Ultimate Direction products for a long time. This vest is a great outgrowth of the vest they have been making well for years and a great update. However the Body Bottles are a joke. Look at the reviews on just the bottles. I also bought the Clutch handheld so I was running three of the Body Bottles and two of the three developed leaks in just over a month. These leaks are not in the seams but in the sections the bend when the bottles are drained. This really blows me away. I have the older generation bottles and they are still holding up after years of use. Sorry UD, you really missed the mark on these bottles.

Note: I've done 40 rugged mountain miles in this vest, not enough to speak to its durability. But so far, so good. Fast hiking, not trail running. Going from a daypack to the vest was a great move. I like that it rides high, and you can move your arms easily to scramble. Even loaded out, it's snug and stays put. Nothing bouncing around. The right side, zippered phone pocket is a bit tough to access, but that's my only design issue, and it's minor to me. I've heard about problems with the squeezable water bottles wearing out prematurely, but the strap pockets nicely hold 16.9 oz. water bottles, too. They made this thing as light as possible, but still strong, and it's a piece of gear I'll never leave at home.

A couple hundred miles in it and it's quite comfortable. 5 stars all around... My only issue is this vest doesn't handle real foods well. If you rely on gells, this is your vest. I didn't know at the time of purchase but they have another product better suited for my needs. Oops

I liked my old UD vests back in the day so I thought I'd bite the price tag and go back. The vest has been great but a bottle was shipped with a defect causing it to leak. This is where I've been totally surprised by how horrible the customer service has been. All I need is a replacement bottle but since they do not answer their phone; respond to an email or to a FB message I do not know if a replacement bottle is being sent :( I definitely was expecting more.

I have owned older models of UD vests and loved them. I really like the additional storage this one has, especially the phone pocket. I have an S21 in a big case and it fit nicely. Although I do wish the storage spaces on the front were symmetrical. Overall this vest felt inferior and flimsy. The clip for the front straps are a pain to fasten and unfasten. No matter how much adjusting I did, it never felt right. I double checked and it is the right size. I've never considered going with another vest brand because I have been so impressed with UD, until now.

The pockets for the bottles were different sizes, the bottles developed small holes in about a month. For size medium I felt like it was a little small I wished I had gone up to a size large. I'm usually between sizes. The best is very light weight so that is a plus. I felt like once I put a two liter bladder into the vest it took up most of my space. The vest was comfortable but I returned it due to the holes developing in the soft bottles after about a month of use. The bottles jiggle too. That's hard to get used to.
