  • 29 pro T has it all!
It's just a great big phone that has all the bells and whistles. It’s well built and handles abuse without issues. The battery lasts several days on a single charge, which is a big plus. Performance is smooth, 5G works well, and the thermal camera is practical for all kinds of stuff. The screen is clear and easy to see in the sun. Cameras are fast and sharp. Even has a 3.5mm audio jack, love that! Overall, it’s a great rugged phone, super fast and capable of anything really, it does what it’s supposed to do. My only con would be that it weighs 0.5 lbs, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it! ... show more

  • Fantastic phone with tons of features
I'm happy to say that I have many positive things to say about this phone. I think my most favorite thing about this phone is the gargantuan battery. 21,200 mAh is an absolutely absurd figure, to put into perspective that's slightly more than four Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phones (I'll mention this a lot, this was my previous phone I replaced with this), or just about three 11 inch iPad Pro tablets. Battery life is plentiful with this phone, and it charges very quickly due to the included 120W power supply. I had a pretty long day of using the phone, most of it was using GPS, listening to music, going through emails and whatnot, and from 10AM to 11:50PM at night it dropped from 100% battery to 82% battery. That's enough battery for 5 very busy days, which few other phones can boast about. The CPU, the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 I was apprehensive about at first. My previous phone, the Samsung S22 Ultra was running a Snapdragon 8 gen 1, a very powerful chip and on paper, blows the Dimensity 7400's performance out of the water. However, when I got the phone, I was delighted to find out that speed was not an issue at all. Between the 120hz display and the quick response of the mostly minimal Android OS (compared to the tons of bloatware Samsung puts on their OS), the Dimensity 7400 is a smooth running chip and I'm very happy with it. I haven't tried games on it yet, but running typical social media, email apps, maps, camera, etc doesn't slow the phone down (unlike other phones running older Mediatek chips I've gotten). The main screen is gorgeous, it's a 6.67 inch 1080x2400 FHD AMOLED display. Some people might point out the pixel density is not that of a flagship, which is true, but unless you're a literal eagle you're not going to see a difference between 1080p and 1440p on a 6.67" display. Peak brightness at 2200 nits is visible in direct sunlight, slightly brighter than the iPhone 16's peak brightness at 2000 nits. Storage is gigantic, at 512GB with expansion up to 2TB with an SD card. You also have 2 SIM card slots which is very useful, especially for going abroad. For visual spectrum cameras, the camera suite is impressive. One main 50MP sensor, a wide angle 50MP and the front facing 50MP all work great. Admittedly I am very spoiled from Samsung's cameras, so this felt like a big downgrade going from a 108MP main sensor, two telephotos and a wide angle to two 50MP cameras. However, the cameras are flagship grade in my opinion, they look better than iPhone's cameras, and this phone also doesn't cost as much as an iPhone, so I can't really complain. However, I hope in the future they add a telephoto lens as well (maybe instead of the secondary display, more on this later), I would very much like to see that addition. The night vision camera and thermals are really excellent. The night vision camera is a 64MP, it's very clear and takes great pictures even in pitch black, courtesy of four IR LED's. The thermal is also excellent, I admittedly don't know as much about thermals as a lot of other people, but 25hz refresh rate on a phone is very excellent. Additionally, one of my friends has a small HIKMICRO thermal imager, and despite it being 500 dollars for just a thermal imager, the Ulefone Armor 29's thermal camera appears much clearer with better refresh rate. Very impressive. For LED's, there's the main camera flash LED that's very bright, but there's also a red, blue and white floodlight LED on the back. All of them are adjustable with the software preloaded on the phone, it's very easy to access and very intuitive. First responders will appreciate the red and blues, but you should not use the blue color to prevent any possibility of police impersonation. I'd recommend turning off the blue LED in the settings. The customizable side button is a welcome addition, I use it to turn on the floodlight LED. You can set it to single click, double click or hold to click 3 different things. You can use it to open apps or functions on the phone. Additionally, there is a dedicated camera button on the other side as well. I find it very useful, reminds me of the Red Hydrogen One phone that had that feature. There is a proprietary port on the side to connect either a microscope or an endoscope to the phone. I think it's a fantastic idea, and I hope that Ulefone adds more options to this lineup. Maybe other external camera options, like a small digital telescope or a telephoto lens case. The fingerprint reader is very quick and has less false inputs than a flagship under-display fingerprint reader. Much appreciated. Headphone jack!!! VERY much appreciated, I use wired IEM's a lot so this is a huge positive for me. The speaker is quite loud. It's slightly louder than my previous Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra, but not quite as clear. However, I imagine this is due to the narrow speaker holes, which also I imagine have better ingress protection properties. As long as it's loud, I'm happy. The phone in general is built extremely durably compared to flagship phones, which are metal and glass sandwiches. The construction is mostly anodized aluminum with a large amount of rubber for cushioning from falls. Additionally, it has a much better waterproofing rating compared to other phones, due to plugs being used for the headphone jack and charging port, as well as a rubber gasket for the memory/sim card slot. Now, the very few things I don't like as much. I don't really find the secondary display useful. I know there's large brands that have added secondary displays to their phones, but those usually are foldables like the new Motorola Razer or Samsung Z-Fold series. Those have more use because the main screen is often folded and hidden away, however for a phone like this I don't really have a use for a small secondary display since your display is always accessible to you. The compass is cool I guess, but I wouldn't complain about going into the app drawer to open the compass app. Personally, I would get rid of the secondary display and add a telephoto camera like I mentioned earlier. The other thing I don't like is the haptic motor. The haptic motor frankly feels awful, it's slow and lethargic compared to flagship phones. It's comparable to my very old Samsung Galaxy A32, which also had a terrible haptic motor. However, I will give this a pass because I don't know if adding a flagship haptic motor to a phone this big and heavy would do anything. Overall, I really like this phone, and plan to purchase from Ulefone again if I decide to upgrade again in the future. Something to note- the phone weighs in at 1lb 9oz. Personally, I don't care how thin my phone is, I will always sacrifice thinness so I can get more battery. There are others that do care how much their phone weighs, so if you're one of those people, keep that in consideration. Some things I would suggest for the designers for future models- - I would suggest maybe some more rubber surrounding the screen and camera cluster. There is some rubber protecting from flat drops, but I would feel more comfortable with a few more millimeters of rubber bumping protection - I already said this but I'll reiterate, I personally don't care much for the secondary display and would prefer a telephoto camera in its place, I think a lot of people would agree with me - More ecosystem for the proprietary port on the side. I think it's a wonderful idea, I am already interested in getting the microscope attachment and any future releases. - Find a way to put a snappier haptic motor on the phone ... show more

  • Good choose
The thermal imaging function is extremely impressive—its data is highly accurate and the images are crystal clear, making the phone well worth its price. But that's not all: compared to traditional thermal imaging equipment, it also functions as a smartphone, and it's waterproof and shockproof with top-tier specifications across the board. That's truly incredible! The screen quality is excellent, and I love the Sub-Display—it's both cool and highly practical. Both screens offer great brightness, so I have no issues using it outdoors even in direct sunlight. It boasts a 21200 mAh battery. With regular use—watching videos, playing games, browsing the web, and more—I can actually go 4 to 5 days without needing to charge it. You might think a large battery would charge slowly, but it equipped with a 120W fast-charging system that lets me fully recharge it in no time. The only downside of such a big battery is the device's weight, but I knew about it before purchasing and find it completely acceptable. If you can't handle its weight, please buy cautiously. The camera setup is top-notch, featuring a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX989), a 64MP night vision sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It delivers stunning photos during the day, and at night, the 64MP night vision sensor captures incredibly clear images of details invisible to the naked eye. It also comes with many other useful features: 1000-Lumen Camping Light, Warning Lights, AI capabilities, an outdoor toolbox, the uSmart Expansion Connector, an IR Blaster, and more. All of these are practical for daily use and perform exceptionally well. I absolutely love it and will recommend the Armor 29 Pro Thermal to my friends and family! ... show more

  • I had no idea that a phone could do all this
Armor 29 Pro Thermal Review I have been using iPhones for almost 2 decades. Basically part of the apple ecosystem. My current iPhone is the 11 pro and it has started to fail. Dropping calls randomly and the speaker not putting out full volume anymore. Time to get a new phone but this time I wanted to get away from the iPhone if possible. I also use a thermal camera to evaluate my solar power plant and storage batteries. Comes in real handy in helping to find loose or bad connections and helping to prevent issues like fires. Also use a borescope sometimes for repair or exploration around the house. Lots to explore in a 100 year old house. I have a separate night vision camera system too for checking out wild life at night. So I use my phone, and 3 other separate devices. I had no ideal that I could get a device that included a phone and 2 of those devices in one and the ability to connect the other to it too. I happened to watch a youtube video about diesel heaters and noticed that they were using a phone with a built in thermal camera. They also were using the phone as a hammer in some cases and just throwing the phone around without any apparent damage. I was curious about what type of phone this was and found out it was made by a company named ulefone, who I have never heard of. This started a two week search for the perfect phone and a good price. It was also right before black Friday so I was looking for a great deal. After much searching and watching reviews I decided on the Armor 29 Pro Thermal phone. Reading the features page on ulefone.com reveals so many cool features and it blew my mind that a single device could do all this. After making sure that it would work with my new service provider, T-Mobile, I ordered one for $650 and received it a few days later. On the add it mentioned that this phone is big and hefty and to make sure that you understood this before buying. I was aware of that but when I received the phone I was still a little shocked. It is hefty but built like a tank. The display impressed me in brightness and clarity. I am used to ios so the android 15 os took me a little time to get used to. I love all the options that are available. The apple os restricts many things you can do. The battery is also impressive. I had this phone for a week and used it every day and still had 50% battery left. It charges quickly with the included 120 watt charger and cable. Also includes a holster for the phone and a tempered glass protective screen for the phone, which was very easy to install. I have used the thermal vision camera and it works very well. Much better that the dedicated one that I have. The night vision is also impressive. I am still learning how to use many of the features but that is part of the fun. I recommend reading the ulefone web page to see all of the features that are available. Support from ulefone was also quick and accurate. I was having some issues getting the phone activated with T-Mobile and this phone needs a physical sim card to work. It does not support esim. T-Mobile rep told me that it was compatible but that it was locked. I was surprised to hear that and contacted the seller. They responded quickly and told me that they do not sell any locked phones and that the service provider was incorrect. I ordered a sim card and followed the instructions included with the phone. The phone connected to the network as soon as I inserted the sim card. Overall, I love this phone. It’s has so many options that I have started to like my phone again. I had gotten tired of my iphone and only picked it up to make or receive calls. Just remember that this phone is a tank and not like any other phone you have ever used. Thank you for reading ! ... show more

  • Great phone for a great price with features that rival a lot of flagship phones
I have been using the Armour 29 thermal for a couple weeks now and I have really come to love it as a daily driver. The battery life is amazing its nice to go to bed with out worrying if you put your phone on the charger. The thermal camera on it is amazing I had one on my old phone but the improvement between the 160x120 and this hi-res 640x512 is insane, especially out in a cold field or when youre looking around at night. It is a bit heavy for sure but you get used to it if you’re using it all the time. The red/blue light feature is pretty cool to show off but really I keep the blue light off and use the red light at night because its much easier on your eyes, alotta less fatigue on the eyes then the super bright one. But that mega flashlight can really light up the night it’s a mini search light in your pocket and at night can light up a good section of the forest in front of you, and if you have all the lights on its like a mini sun in your pocket. Really for the money you can’t beat this phone for camping/long adventures and I have come to just make it my daily driver, it can just do everything. Also comes with free screen protectors which was really cool. Very durable exterior design you can tell it can take a beating. ... show more

  • Thermal & Battery
The Ulefone Armor 29 Pro Thermal is the most reliable, useful phone I’ve ever had. This thing’s a total lifesaver, and it’s all thanks to two features that sold me right away: the thermal imaging and that beast of a battery. First off, the thermal imaging. I brought it hiking, and I used it to spot a little animal nest in a tree before we got too close—total peace of mind! I even attached a video of the squirrels I ran into on the trail. Next up, that 21200mAh battery. This battery lasts FOREVER. I just went on a 4-day camping trip with zero access to power, and I used the phone nonstop: GPS for trail navigation, taking photos and videos of the scenery, even using the 10W reverse charging to juice up my portable speaker. By the end of the trip, it still had 25% battery left! When I finally charged it at home, that 120W fast charging works exactly like they said, 10 minutes gave me 20% power. No more stressing out when my phone hits 10% halfway through the day. The dual AMOLED screens are bright enough to use in direct sunlight, and the night vision camera took super clear shots of the stars at camp. And bonus points for the tough build—this thing’s built like a tank! The Ulefone Armor 29 Pro Thermal is really nice. The thermal imaging and battery alone make it stand out from every other phone I’ve ever used, and the durability is just the cherry on top. Hopefully, the Ulefone brand can maintain its current status, and I look forward to their next phone. ... show more

  • Heavy, as a bottle of wine.
Its a well made phone. Pros; thermal imaging, and night vision are awesome. Camera takes great pics. I dropped it hard. No damage. After a month the battery never went below 50% even after days without a charge. Cons; 1. HEAVY as a bottle of wine. I know because I was holding both at the wine store. 2. The ergonomic angle on side makes it impossible to fit in ANY holder. Even the $40 super big HD holders at truck stop. I have to hold it to see calls, gps, so on. 3. Finally, the power button is on the side. Right where you have to grip it, to hold it. Its so heavy I have to really grip it. Ulefone engineers: move power button to top. Maybe, ulefone should over engineer a car hands free holder for it. Need to buy replacement screen protectors Maybe, the battery, with lights could be a detachable thing. To use as a powerbank and have Qi wireless charging for a lighter phone I could put in the pants pocket without wearing suspenders to keep my pants from falling off. (Really happened) ... show more
