  • Good, sturdy dock, wish there was an ethernet port, or another monitor connection
I really love this dock so far. It works well, it doesn't make my Mac's heating issues worse. Because I actually carry my Mac Mini around from home to office, it makes it very easy to bring it to my office and plug in one or two plugs and I'm set. I'm not using the M.2 drive slot, but I'm glad that's an option if I need more storage. I would love it more if I didn't have to take my Mac Mini back and forth, but at least it makes it much easier to do so. It is well designed; it looks cohesive with my mac, and it feels sturdy. It also perfectly fits the mac without stifling its ability to exhaust. The DisplayPort out absolutely supports 4K at least at 60Hz, which is a good plus. (I can't speak for higher resolutions or refresh rates because that's the limit of my monitor.) One thing I would have loved is the addition of an ethernet port (the wifi in my office kind of sucks and there's nothing I can really do about it), but I was able to solve that by using a USB-C ethernet adapter. Either that or I would have liked another HDMI port. Additionally, I was originally looking for an HDMI version of this, but it doesn't seem like there is a variant of this one like that. I am planning on also trying this out with a second monitor to see how well it holds up, but it also only has one DisplayPort out, so I will either have to use the HDMI out on the Mac Mini or one of the thunderbolt ports to HDMI. ... show more

  • Almost perfect...
I've had this hub now for a few days, and all but one thing seems to be working as it should. The only thing that doesn't seem to be working totally properly is that when the Mac mini is turned off, there is lots and lots of noise coming from the audio jack. The noise goes away when the Mac mini is turned on. I will be contacting UGreen in the US to see if they can provide any technical support on this matter. Other than that, it's nice that there are multiple USB A ports in the back of the hub so I can connect my microphone and webCam. I also like having the audio jack on the back too, so that all those cables are not visible from the front which was the thing I didn't like about the Satechi hub. I would like to get a second monitor someday and this hub will provide a display port connection for that second monitor. Something to note, the connection between this hub and the Mac mini takes up two of the thunderbolt ports on the back of the Mac mini. I was hoping that this would provide better throughput to the NVME slot, but it doesn't. I believe it is supposed to help provide the proper power if you are using multiple ports on the front or back of the unit. The other thing I wish this, and most of the other hubs, had is a 40 GBPS connection for the NVME slot on the bottom of the unit. This hub looks really nice along with the new M4 Mac mini. ... show more

  • Made TimeMachine convenient and invisible
Works perfectly with my M4 Pro Mac Mini. I added a gen3 NMVE drive (this hub cannot effectively use gen4). The added nvme is relatively slow, however, it doesn't matter as I set it up as the target for TimeMachine. My Mac Mini makes backups to this drive every hour and I don't have to worry about it at all. I also have a 4TB gen4 drive connected via a TB5 Acasis. BlackMagic Speed tests (5gb option): internal 1TB: write: 6236MB/s, Read 5078 MB/s, external 4tb via TB5: write: 4194, read 3196 and via the Ugreen Hub: write 417.7 read: 371.7 (my internal drive is 1TB, the Ugreen drive is divided in a 1TB TimeMachine and 1TB data partitions. You can't run the speedtest on a TimeMachine partition. Other than that it adds a couple of convenient USA-A connections and SD card slots to the front. It improved the EiFi by lifting the Mac mini up off of the metal stand it was on, The 3 USB-C and 3 USB-A ports in the back are a little less convenient and I don't use then am this time. ... show more

  • Meh
It’s okay. As an M4 mini dock it’s fine. Nothing to write home about. It would be amazing if it was 30-40% cheaper. Also it uses two connections on your computer. The bad news is it’s an all in one cable with a two port plug that fits the Minis rear ports. Probably never going to work on anything else, but to be fair it is a M4 mini dock. My guess is you’d be better off with the one with no Display Port, but also to be clear it’s okay and I’m not sending mine back. It’s not a great value or device but not so bad that I want a different one. ... show more
