Description

Stretch your mental muscles into the third dimension! In this version of Ubongo, the hit puzzle game, players race to place three-dimensional blocks so they fit perfectly in a specific area on a puzzle card and completely fill a designated three-dimensional space. Each time you win, you collect colorful plastic gems; the player with the most valuable collection of gems at the end of the game wins. The puzzle cards each have multiple puzzles on both sides: one side is easier, the other more difficult. A total of four difficulty levels makes this the perfect game for beginners and experts alike, allowing the whole family to play together. With four sets of eight durable three- dimensional pieces and 72 puzzle boards featuring a total of 671 puzzles, the game can be played with up to four players — or challenge yourself in solo games. Take your puzzling to the next level with Ubongo 3D.

  • Awesome game
I love this game. It’s challenging for all ages. We have a blast playing in groups

  • Excise for kids brain
I already owned UBONGO 2D and known well so I immediately decided to purchase to this when I saw the affordable price. Some board game require for parents to go easy on kids, but it is not. Do your best or you would lose by your little kids. If your kids is not good at it, you can select the level (board is double-sided). you take difficult level and your kids take a easy level, it makes a Fierce battle! It is not only a fun game but a brain excise game. You can train 3D shape thinking that is needed for a math. ... show more

  • challenging family fun
AT first glance this game looks like a game for preschoolers but it takes precision, thought, and smarts. We have played this game as a family several times and have enjoyed it. It would be nice if it were for more players as well but we only needed for four anyway. Kids have taken it to game night for youth group and had fun. It is a bit pricey but if you can get it on sale, it is great fun. ... show more

  • Fun, try the original first though
We have a copy of the original two-dimensional Ubongo game. It's great! It's a fast-paced spatial reasoning game, with different difficulty levels and a point system that involves enough randomness that everyone feels like they always have a chance. This version uses the same basic concept, but takes it up a level...literally. While in the original version you needed to fit two-dimensional shapes into an outline, in this version you need to fit three-dimensional shapes into an outline: exactly two levels across the whole shape. This 3D version is fun too, but to be honest I can't say I like it any better than the original, and in some respects it's worse. For one thing I find it a bit difficult to locate the necessary pieces in this version. In the original, every piece was a slightly different color. In this version, there are eight pieces but only four separate colors, so you need to spend an extra moment each time just to get the right pieces out. For another thing, the frustration factor is just a little bit higher with the 3D version. While a game is no fun if everyone always finishes their challenge every time, it's also no fun if some people fail most of the time, and I found this happens more often with the 3D version than the 2D version. If you're a big fan of the original Ubongo and have thoroughly mastered it, maybe give the 3D version a try, otherwise start with the original. ... show more

  • This game is fun for game night. And it can be a challenge!
This isn’t an easy game to play, but that’s part of the charm of it. I have NOT tried the original game, but it’s definitely not a ‘fit for everybody’ type of game. If you don’t enjoy doing puzzles you may find this game much more challenging, or perhaps not even not like, or become frustrated by it, due to the fact that you need that kind of patience, dexterity and thought, that goes into making actual puzzles, as part of this game. It’s not as complex as a large, literal puzzle can be, but despite only a few pieces, it’s definitely not simple.. let’s just say that. It’s not an easy task, but many will take to this game, and enjoy that side of things. It’s unlike any other game I’ve ever played before, but that isn’t always a bad thing. Some will love it, some won’t. That goes for pretty much every game out there. I like a challenge, and appreciate that it’s not a boring game, but I’m not a huge puzzle fan, so it’s not a game I’ll choose say over Pictionary or monopoly, but others may and WILL disagree. I do like that it’s something that can be replayed, and not collect dust, but again, it has to be up your alley. I think it is unique though, reasonably priced, quality constructed, and many will enjoy trying to claw their way to the winner’s circle, if you will. It would make a nice holiday gift, especially for those who do enjoy challenging puzzles in their regular lives. For me, it’s not the best game I own, but it does have some fun to it, even without being a puzzle person. I enjoy getting time away from electronic devices, having sit down, bonding time, and some laughter and love around the kitchen table. Board games such as this, they do just that. 4 stars 🌟 I hope my review has been helpful for you :). ... show more
