I really like the quality materials that are used in this package. Comparing it to even $30-$40 lights, this feels so much more substantial and solid. The clamp is actually my favorite part because it has a nice rubber cover to stop it from scratching and give it more grip, and it allows you to clamp vertically or horizontally. The arm and the springs look and feel super nice and are sturdy, yet easy to move. The ring light is a super great size and it gives a nice diffused look to everything while still being bright. The cable is a good length considering how it will likely be used. The phone clip and the quarter inch ball joint are super appreciated inclusions and they too feel sturdy and substantial. This entire package definitely has a professional feel and great performance.

In full disclosure I received this light ring as a promotional offer in exchange for an unbiased customer review of the product. That out of the way, Ubeesize hit a home run for those looking for a financially responsible light ring/selfie light! The product arrived impeccably boxed: Ubeesize’s professional boxing and product protection within an Amazon box. No extra styrofoam peanuts, just well-designed packaging suited for the product. Unboxing and assembly is a cinch. The tripod and pole are already fully assembled. The tripod collapses and resecures once open with with a single thumb screw; there are four latch style locks on the upright to fully customize the height of the ring. The ring itself screws onto a bolt at the top and is very secure. There is a standard screw within the ring that the smartphone holder attaches to, this appears to be the same size as would be required for a standard camera. That’s it for assembly! All items in reverse for breakdown and storage. The tripod reaches a full 62” easily and can be as low as 16” (accounting for the base of the light ring and where a camera or phone would be secured). Considering the footprint of the tripod and its height, it’s quite stable when indoors. I have not attempted setting it up outside and have no experience with how it might be affected by a breeze, but anticipate some minor additional securing would be advised. The power source is approximately 6.5’ long and connects directly to the side of the light ring base at the top of the tripod. Boom, setup complete! The smartphone mount is not spring loaded like some of the other products from their line are—some may appreciate this as the thumbscrew for the mount means you can control how much grip you want on the device, others may find the thumbscrew tedious to extend all the way and then tighten back down. Either way, it’s still quite effective and secure. The light ring itself has three settings: daylight, a warmer white light that is equate to a “relax” scene setting on smart lights, and an intense blueish white that I’d similarly equate to a “concentrate” scene. Each light setting also has 10 intensity levels—all of this controlled by a simple and intuitive touchpad at the base of the light ring. The Bluetooth fob connected AND WORKED easily, seamlessly, flawlessly....I’m emphasizing that since I’ve had some work and others work just fine. There is an iOS button and an android button (I run iOS). The fob is ready for pairing out of the box: turn it on, go to your Bluetooth setting in your device, pair and you’re off and running. Overall great, simple, well-thought out and executed design. Ubeesize seems intent on making a reliable name for themselves in this market space, and they’re doing it very well! (I have a couple of their other products I purchased directly out of my own pocket, and they hold the same value.) 5 stars across the board, well done.

I’ve played around with this for a few days and in general I’m satisfied with the light, and ability to use a remote to take pictures. The arm is okay, but the swivel cannot be tightened enough to hold both the light and a camera while pointing down. The light quickly sags. I’ve tightened the nut as tight as possible and it still moves down. I’m using this for still photos so I can just hold it in place, but would not recommend it for videos unless you have the light and camera pointed straight ahead.

The design of the bracket is also very stable, so there is no need to worry about the phone falling. After seeing the photos I took, my friends all wanted to buy it. It is really worth the money!

I got this as a combination desk lamp/video call lamp/photography tripod. I love the multi-purpose functionality. However, when changing the light's position, e.g., to go from a desk lamp to a video call lamp, it can be challenging to tighten it enough to avoid drooping. On one attempt, the ring lamp broke off from the tripod base, rendering it useless. The ring lamp is supported by a tiny black plastic collar which fractured (hopefully visible in the attached picture). Making a load-bearing piece out of cheap plastic seems like a bad design. If you buy the lamp, I've advise being mindful of where you apply force when tightening it.
