I put this on my 9.9 Evinrude that pushes my 10 foot Sorenson catamaran. The difference was amazing... It kept the bow down and increased my speed by quite a bit. Just pre read the instructions to save yourself some early on frustration. Also would have been easier to take off the lower end of engine for proper drilling angle. Happy boating!

Nothing to dislike. I am a commercial fisherman have virtually tried them all. For my application it is perfect on my 25 hp Yamaha. Worked as well on my 18hp tohatsu. Even better if you have trim and tilt.

Item was easy to install on a 1985 Johnson 40HP outboard. Waiting for weather to change to put it in the water. Anticipate it will work fine. This will be updated if need be.

When I received my hydrofoil I immediately opened the box and was surprised with the weight, finish and rigidity of it. This seems to be a well made quality product that is sturdy enough to last. I own a drift boat, no hydrofoil needed but I’m a partial owner of an older runabout that we primarily use to fly fish for sea run cutthroat. It has an older 15hp mariner 2 stroke outboard. It’s no speedboat but It’s a great for the water we fish and functions almost like a flats skiff. Unfortunately a hydrofoil of any kind will not fit on our motor while still allowing for easy fresh water flushing. The motor has its intake located directly under the anti cavitation plate instead of on the side of the shaft like most motors. The flushing plate that came with the motor will not attach to the motor with the hydrofoil attached. I’m sure that one could be fabricated and possibly even purchased. If you use a barrel to flush out your motor or only use it in fresh water you won’t have this issue. If my water intake was located in the standard location I would be able to recommend this product for the quality of its construction. I can’t comment on performance since I’m not able to use it.

This unit was installed in less then 15 minutes and the resulting operation of my boat is a game changer. It holds a straight line much better as well as keeps the bow down at higher speeds. The build quality is very good, and I don't see it breaking anytime soon. It will probably out live my motor. My only issue is that I didn't purchase and install one sooner. It really makes a difference in my smaller V-hull boat.

These with a hand drill and some care are easy to install. And can very quickly improve ride comfort and handling... making them a good value for money spent !!!! IF. !!!!! IF one has already tried relocating weighty items... trimming engine... raising or lowering engine... and such. After those options are exhausted or something additional is still needed. Then these are very helpful. Most folks will find themselves trimming less with one...staying on plane easier at lower speeds... and it helps keep bow down. Remember there is no free lunch users usually get slightly lower top speed and that is a small offset for most users. If you cruise midrange speeds and want the boat to feel like a bigger boat... these will do the job.
