Measure the circumference of the largest part of the child's head, (usually just above the eyebrows) in inches: Use a paper tape measure or a string and do not pull it too tight, loose like a hat would fit.
  • SIZE CHART Youth Small: 18 to 19, Youth Medium: 19 to 20, Youth Large: 20 to 21, Youth XL: 21 to 22. If you right at the top of any size, we suggest you go up to the next size for a comfortable fit. Head shapes can affect how a helmet fits, the size chart is meant to be a starting point.
  • True youth sized smaller shells, not over padded adult helmets. Removable and washable liner. The helmet meets the DOT standard (FMVSS218). We ensure that the helmets we sell meet the DOT standard by having them tested regularly at an independent test facility. But the helmet weighs roughly 3lbs so they are not recommended for anyone under the age of 5

We have a three year old boy.... That should be enough right there but there is more. I ride street bikes and he loves dressing up in my gear. He also is quite the daredevil, no fear at all. This is not uncommon though for a three year old. He does however have the tendency to run full speed one direction while looking the other direction. This has lead to some amazing crashes in the home. So much though that we have nick named him crash. I always joked I was going to get him a helmet. I was recently in an accident were I was hit from behind while parked at a red light. My helmet hit the ground but not bad. So since I should not use that helmet moving forward I gave it to CRASH and he loved it. Running around the house wobbling back and forth. Since we had recently purchased a battery powered quad runner and I would prefer something better than the bike helmet I decided to pick this package up for him. I was amazed at the quality and strength of the helmet. The gloves could have been stronger but they will work fine for dirt. What started out as a joke turned out to be a great purchase. I am not going to try and influence him to ride or not to ride, that is up to him as he matures. What I do like is that now he feels comfortable and even prefers safety equipment. In my opinion this is good training since I am a firm believer in helmet and other safety equipment when it comes to motorcycles. ... show more

Great helmet! Size medium fits well for a normal head size 3 years old kid. The size chart is acuret so you can simply get the head diameter. Gloves are too big but they are nothing special anyway.

This looks like a good helmet. Gloves and googles are good. Keep in mind my kids are not racing and its a lot cheaper than wrapping their heads in gauze. The only complaint/issue I have with this helmet are the screws holding the visor on. They were loose but tighten up with a flat head screwdriver. Problem is that there is no way to get a screw driver in without tearing up part of the visor. I had to cut away a bit of plastic to be able to properly secure the visor. Also the chin strap is super long, not a defect, works fine, just weird. ... show more

I ordered an XlY for my five year old based off of the size chart guide lines. She is a 20.5" and it says if borderline to order up for better fit so I ordered the XlY which is supposed to fit a 21-22. The helmet was so lose on her it actually fit me (I am a 22) so I emailed the company stating I would keep the Xl for myself if they discounted my 2nd purchase. Tho the company did refund the shipping the YL (20-21) helmet was not at all satisfying. It fit just as loose as the Xl and infact I would say they are the same size with different tags. (Again the YL helmet fit me just the same as the XL) These helmets are not meant for children. They are heavy which I did read in the reviews b4 purchasing... I just figured all helmets were gunna be a little heavy but these do not have the padding required for a child round their jawline/cheeks to ensure the helmet doesn't wobble and move. A good helmet should have room enough to squeeze two fingers between the child's Hemet and cheek and they should beable to bite down without biting their cheeks. These helmets however are loose with not enough padding. The circumference may fit your child's head but there is more than just head size that matters here and because of the lack of padding around the jawline/cheeks I would deem these unsatisfactory and quite dangerous for younger children because their faces are thinner and will not fi put the rest of the helmet. In summary I would suggest buying a different brand. ... show more

The helmet looked nice as well as the gloves and goggles however i measured my head and i got the exact size for my head how it was slightly loose but not to bad but i do wish it fit mor snug and the gloves fit alittle small and the goggles feel cheap and when i have to put the goggles on off then bend and feel like there gonna break however for the price i am overall happy with it. i recommend this for someone who’s doesn’t want to spend hundreds on dirt bike gear. ... show more

    • Impossible to get correct size on an online purchase

These helmets are virtually impossible to 'size' correctly. I followed the directions for measurement and got the medium. There was no way my grandson could even get it past his ears. We ended up going to a local shop and spending just a few dollars more and getting something a little nicer. In Typhoon's defense, he had to try on 4 different helmets at the store until he found one that fit. Don't buy this online, you'll end up sending it back, at your expense. ... show more
