  • Amazing product for an amazing price.
Color: Black
I am very impressed with this Bluetooth keyboard/iPad case. I purchased this keyboard-case for my 5th Gen iPad Air as a undergraduate university student and have been able to replace my 2020 MacBook because of this accessory. As a student, I write about 2 3-6 page lab reports each week in addition to regular short writing assignments. For these tasks, I use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive frequently. With this keyboard, I am able to easily type my work. The individual keys of this accessory are lightweight, thin, and quiet. They do not feel cheap, and I have not had any issue with them whatsoever. I love the backlit feature of the keys as well because my dorm room is not well lit and my night vision isn’t very good. The keyboard lights are RGB, meaning that they change to all colors of the rainbow (10 different colors actually). You can select one of the 10 colors in standstill. There are also 4 different levels of brightness for the light. The keyboard saves battery by automatically shutting off after some time. However, it does not shut off after such an unreasonably short amount of time so that it becomes annoying. The trackpad is a bit cheap feeling, but fully functional! I find that since iPads are touchscreen, the trackpad is rendered completely useless anyway. I love that this case leaves the magnetized side of the iPad open so that a stylus/Apple pen can still be attached/charged. The pen loop is also very useful and fits my Apple pen dupe perfectly! All of the keys are fully functional so that the iPad screen brightness, volume, and pause/play can be controlled using the keyboard entirely. However, one flaw I have noticed is that the keyboard insists that the beginning of every “sentence” starts with a capital letter! For example, if I try to type a password using my iPad that does not start with a capital letter, the keyboard forced the first letter to be capitalized regardless. To fix this, whatever letter that needs to be in the lower case must be typed twice consecutively. Then, the leftmost letter (the capitalized one) is deleted. Only the lowercase letter will remain. The rotational feature of this case is very fun and useful, too. I have yet to see another model that allows for so much flexibility! I am able to prop my iPad in just about any way imaginable for my convenience. Finally, the product is charged using the same port as the 5th Gen iPad Air which I find to be very convenient. Overall, an amazing product that I have not regretted purchasing for even a second. ... show more

  • Typecase Vs Magic Keyboard
Color: Black
So I was debating between the apple magic keyboard and this brand. I spent a lot of time researching because I wanted to make the right purchase. I wanted something that would make the iPad more efficient, a case that is functional, protective, and durable. I was trying to understand if it the price difference for the magic keyboard was really worth it. Overall, I am impressed with the quality, functionality, and versatility especially since it costs 1/3 of the Magic Keyboard. I think in many ways it is actually superior to the Magic Keyboard. So I compiled a list of pros and cons for this keyboard below. Hopefully, it’ll help some of you out there who are also on the fence. Pros: - Multi-color light up keyboard with medium and high brightness - There are holes for the speaker, mic, and charging port - Uses USB-C charger (same as iPad) - Sleek design, lots of colors to choose from - Great price. 1/3 of the magic keyboard - I especially like the functionality buttons that allow for play, pause, skip, rewind, brightness and sound control. It even has a Home Screen button. (Magic keyboard doesn’t even have these functions). - Lots of positive reviews from others. I really did my research before buying this brand and I was impressed with the positive feedback from others. - You can flip it a multitude of ways: use it in tablet mode, or up to 180 degrees rotation! This is great because i can type from any angle. The magic keyboard only has one angle which is frustrating when you rotate the screen higher based on where you’re using it from. - There is a battery button you can press to see the battery life of the keyboard. Full charge is 3 blue lights. Cons: - It adds weight to the iPad. But honestly, it’s only like 1lb. - The material is like a cheap plastic. It’s not really heavy duty. But you get what you pay for, and anything more sturdy would probably add weight. - The leather strap for the stylus is on the bottom keyboard. I think that’s a bad design choice. It's not even big enough to hold a regular pen. It would be more accessible if it was on the upper keyboard, where the iPad sits - You can’t pop it on and off like the magnetic function of other keyboards. It’s not too hard to snap it in the case and take it off but it’s not instant by any means -The keyboard doesn't open 360 degrees. You have to twist it to turn it in order to lay it down fully. I suppose it's built like that so it stands up properly when in laptop mode instead of flopping over. - The trackpad isn’t perfect. Compared to a real laptop or the magic keyboard, I think there is a slight difference. The keyboard goes into sleep mode after 5-10 min so it isn’t responsive to the first touch after a long period. I read a lot of reviews that said the trackpad was extra sensitive and they couldn’t type while it was activated, but I haven’t experienced that at all. I find the trackpad rather responsive (not as perfect as magic keyboard, but definitely manageable. No complaints) ... show more

  • Good case, very functional, but very heavy.
Color: Black
The case itself is solid. The keyboard is very tactile, feels good on the fingers, responsive and the light feature is also very helpful in dark areas. You can control the brightness, color etc so that you’re not blinded by the lights either in very dark rooms. Pairing is simple and straightforward. Even comes with a home button so that you can quickly exit or switch to another app without the upswipe. The only issue I have is that this case is heavy. It’s not meant for prolonged iPad only use. If you’re going to use the iPad only (without using the keyboard often) then this case will make your arm sore in minutes. It’s primarily used as a iPad to laptop style case where you’ll be using the iPad more for lots of typing or word-smithing vs using the iPad for the majority of the time and typing only a little. If you’re using this case to just protect your iPad and type the occasional email, then there are better cases for you. Even ones that have a detachable keyboard so you’re not lugging around a 10 lb case. If you use the iPad for work and type often for reports, web use, or other types of high volume typing then this case is highly recommended. I love it. ... show more
