I used this on my new wood burning stove to protect the wall from overheating and to insulate the flue. Works great. Temp check shows it keeps the wall well under the max temperature and improved the chimney draft. Use gloves because the fibers are itchy if you touch them.

Ceramic Fiber Insulation Blanket (24.1"x12"x1") Fireproof Insulation Kaowool for Dishwasher, Forge, Fireplace,Kilns, Stoves, Furnace 1500C/2700F First impressions: Nice medium thickness ceramic fiber batting for fire insulation. The fiber is pretty consistent throughout, with no thin spots. The color is even and very white. Installation/setup: Use to protect flammable things from fire. Usually used to protect walls from hot boxes, dishwashers, ovens, water heaters and the like. Final thoughts: I plan to use this to build a small kiln to fire pottery in my back yard. I am using plans made by a professional and it will be used with a propane fire source away from all flammable things. The ceramic fiber is to keep the heat in a small enclosed space to finish small pottery items for my own use. I like this and I’m glad I got it. ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend. ... show more

I ordered this to use with my hot tub--to insulate around the motor and pump and wanted to make sure that whatever I used was fire-proof in the event that the motor or pump get overheated. I like the thermal properties of this as it does a great job providing insulation and protection against the cold but also is basically fire-proof so it can be used in areas that you worry could get really hot. I didn't give 5 stars because they could have used the same cover material for both sides to prevent or at least reduce the spread of loose fibers (which with this blanket you do have to be careful with) that you could inhale. Otherwise, happy purchase that should protect my mechanical parts this winter. ... show more
