I was looking for a nice looking, sturdy bookcase without spending a ton of money on it. This unit certainly delivered! Assembly was pretty easy; the only thing that made it difficult was getting the side and back panels to stay in the bottom grooves while getting the next shelf installed and having those panels line up in the upper grooves. I love this book shelf! It really gives expensive vibes, it’s so sturdy, so solid, wood feels amazing and has wood texture. 2 or 3 of these side by side would look incredible for the price. If you’re trying to create a fancy book space in your home this one hits the mark. It is so much taller and wider then expected. These are easy to build from a technical perspective, but the materials a garbage. This is not solid wood as advertised. This is manufactured wood shelves with cardboard sides and backs. It’s impossible to be built very well, as the materials don’t line up well enough. We bought several of these and the first one has a hard lean forward. Not sure about the integrity and stability of it. We spent nearly $150 per unit in these and are really disappointed. Should have just gone to Walmart instead. ... show more

My husband bought this for me for Mother's Day, and I absolutely love it! It fits in with our vintage decor, and it has plenty of room for my books. It was fairly easy to assemble and it's pretty sturdy. I love it!

    • My jaw has dropped.
Absolute pain in the behind to assemble. Took about an hour to set up, and in that hour I questioned how the manufacturer thought some of those pieces would fit like they were intended to. By the end of the assembly, I was talking smack to the manufacturer like they were in the room with me. Once I was done with my little fuss, and I had the bookshelf put together, I took a step back in awe. After all of the hassle, I believed I was looking at a pot of gold. It was a masterpiece. I'd rather take a stare at this bookshelf than stare at my wife. And yes, my wife is jaw-dropping. I threw all of my cd's onto the shelf, threw some plants onto it and boom. Huge bang for my buck, no, your buck. I don't have a picture of my setup because I'm at work currently. But just know that it is genuinely one of my favorite pieces of furniture in my apartment. It is pretty much as pictured and is partially real wood but it is not hard wood... It is very light like balsa and stain is very dark and rustic. Not too difficult to assemble with the drop in panels of fake wood but very flimsy so don't over load or expect it to last very long. Tall so secure to wall to protect against toppling over!
