Beautiful shelf. It was not hard to build. I don’t build things that often, typically I let my husband do it. However, I assembled this myself. Instructions could be more clear, but they do show you what you need to know. The shelves have a hole on the side of them, make sure you place them facing the center of the shelf (against the metal rail in the center). They need a screw to pass through metal to the wood. I somehow missed that and needed to take a couple of shelves off to place the correct way. This was a minor inconvenience, but my error. Sturdy and holds quite a bit.

I bought this to keep current magazines and books more available. It works good for that, however I was a little disappointed to length of the boards that hold the books they seem to be on the short side, however they do hold books and so on. It takes a bit of time to put together so plan on setting some aside to assemble this unit. It holds hold books magazines my phone and TV remote. What is really nice is it turns so you can have stuff on both sides. I have my current periodicals, books and other next to my chair. Which helps me to see what I have without being stuck on bookcase where I won't see them regularly and as so I pick them up and read them more. When I am done I put them back on the sleeves and pick out some more I want to read. System works good for me and this book case helps me to accomplish that. If you don't have a lot of space or you're not good with a hammer and nails this unit is great great all the screws are in the box along with the tools to put it together, that makes it so much easier. It holds lots and hardly takes up any room at all, about 2 feet square. One more thing, read the instructions while you are putting it together it will go much easier for you.

Overall, pretty easy to put together. It comes with tools, and the instructions are pretty good. When you attach the first bottom shelves, pay attention to how the holes line up before you secure everything. That's the only thing that we had some trouble with. But once you get those first two shouts down, the rest comes together pretty easily! So far it seems pretty durable. I do think that it may be a little bit unstable, and might tip over if a kid's really pulling on it. It does have some good weight to it. I would say close to 40 lb. It sustained no scratches during assembly, including when my kids were dropping tools and scratching the surface. So I'm really pleased with that! I was afraid that the wood was going to get scratched while we were building it, but nothing happened! It looks great. I estimate that it can hold about 96 graphic novels. I did put one larger book on it, And it seems pretty stable. I would say use caution if you're using this in a toddler, or little kid room. They're not going to be as stable as if they were on a regular bookshelf, and might topple a small stack of books a lot easier. My 9-year-old loves it, and it is the perfect addition to his room. He's an avid reader, and is currently very much enjoying collecting some popular graphic novel series. Perfect to keep all the books together! Considering the materials, I do question the value for money just a little bit, but if it was stance the test of time it will definitely be well worth it!

I personally did not put it together but I was told it was a lot of screws. As for the finished product, I really like this bookshelf. I like that I can put any size book on this and it will fit. I have almost all of the shelves filled and it is heavy. It is challenging to turn because of all the weight but it does turn. I like the look. I like the ease to find what I want and I plan to buy another one soon.

So the bookshelf design and look get 5-stars. The instructions in the beginning were not 100% concise so I had to redo the bottom layer of shelves far more times than I care to admit. It took me about an hour to do the first few steps so I had to stop and regroup another day 😅 Once I got past that, smooth sailing. No funky screw hole line ups, no missing pieces. Happy with the overall look and quality.

Simple to put together but time consuming. Love, love, love this shelf. It’s attractive, it comes in several sizes to fit your design, everyone who has seen it has loved it and inquired about it, and it holds a lot of books, takes very little space for the amount of books it holds.
