If you put down any sort of outdoor ‘carpet’ it needs to be fixed to the surface so it doesn’t slide around. This tape makes that job easy. An ‘X’ in the middle as well as every so often in a pattern similar to the 5 pip design on six-sided gaming dice will keep the middle from moving around. Lay tape under the corners, and along the full length under steps and transition edges. So far, this tape has held well, and isn’t showing any sides of letting up. Though I’ve only had it down a few months. Hopefully I’ll get several years of service before it needs replaced.

I originally planned to use this with carpet tiles but another need arose. My old projector screen started to rip away from the top pole. I thought that it finally had seen its last day when I realized that I might have the perfect fix. Sure enough, this tape rebonded the screen together terrifically. This tape is very handy for multiple purposes.

I have artificial turf in my backyard and it was originally nailed into the dirt. I recently adopted a couple of stray dogs and one of them loves to bite at and pull up the turf. It rained a bit and the soil softened up enough that one of my dogs has been piling up the grass regardless of how many nails were used. I decided to try to use this seam tape to prevent her from pulling up the grass, and it worked for a minute and then my dog was very determined and pulled hard enough to tear the seam tape along the border of the turf sections.

Tape is quite wide and is more suitable for an adult than child. It is very smelly like chemicals. It is super sticky and will hold on the skin.

As owners/operators of a miniature golf facility, the Berqelson family is familiar with many types of artificial turf and the adhesives for binding them. First, this tape is NOT a product that we have any use for, unless possibly as part of a very short term, emergency repair. It is not cost effective for the lengths we'd need. For most commercial applications, specialty glues are used to permanently affix the turf to concrete or wood, which holds seams together tightly when properly laid. This tape, meanwhile, MIGHT be the right solution for areas of "floating" turf, where permanent placement is either undesirable or impossible. It all hinges on the BACKING of your turf. I tried this tape on three different types of turf. It performed excellently on a smooth, slick backing, and was quite difficult to pull off once firmly applied and left to cure for a day or two. Turf with a woven backing (similar to that found on most indoor carpet) performed reasonably well, but would separate from the tape when pulled firmly. The third type, having its fibers arranged in rows and a backing with a matte finish, pulled away from the adhesive easily, with approximately half of its contact surface coming away with the tape. To its credit, this cloth tape is durable, extremely sticky, and not noticeably affected by water in my submersion and saturation test. Whether or not it will accomplish your goals will be largely a function of your turf and the surface it will lay on.
