They appear to be plastic with a wood grain instead of actual wood. They have a good sound. The smaller size make them easy to grip, and the octagonal body means they won’t roll away when set down. Shook this shaker and end came off…imagine that. Hundreds of little plastic pellets alll over hardwood floor. Try sweeping that up! Worthless if you can’t shake it.
