These are not plastic. These are heavy duty metal fill look great. The only issue was that I had to add a little bit of extra glue not much but besides that I’ve had them on for months now I’ve had no issues with them. They’re not coming off or peeling or anything.

The shifters fit great and look good on my 2017 AMG GLC SUV. Because of the weather and work I only drive my AMG's a few of months a year. It's not quite the season yet but getting close. As far as the length of the paddles and the driving feel, I'm looking forward to trying them out. I have full confidence that they will preform great and make it easier to up-shift/down-shift and turn while maintaining proper hand location on the steering wheel. I did have a issue when I was installing the paddles. I dropped the adhesive strips on the carpet and contaminated the surfaces. I sent an email to the suppliers link listed on the product order page about my issue and asked if I could get replacements. They replied very quickly and said that it wasn't any problem. They sent the replacements the same day as their email reply and followed up a short time later with an email shipment "tracking #". I received the replacements just a couple days later. Great product and great customer support. Thanks.

I was eager to receive the paddle extensions. On the E class Mercedes the paddles are a bit short from the factory (this is due to aesthetics not everyone want big paddles they wont use in a luxury car) If you do want to shift it requires you to drive holding the wheel in odd way unable to wrap your hand around it. I expected a metalisized plastic paddle cover to arrive and I was dead wrong! They are an aluminum and possibly magnesium alloy, very sturdy light but not flimsy at all. They are mounted directly on the paddle with a custom cut adhesive foam pad. This worried me living in NC with the outside temps that can vary from being 23f - 80f in 24 hours. I wiped both the cars paddles well and the extensions with the supplied alcohol pads. (I recommend wearing rubber/vinyl gloves when you do this to prevent any oil etc from your hands getting on the parts) I placed the adhesive pads on the extenders and place them on the paddles, done. The held in place perfectly but was a little aprehensive that they may pop off under use or due to temp swings. So far after having them on for 24 hours and the temp going from 65 to 20 and going to go back up to the 60s Ive had no issue. Honestly after they set they seem to be mounted solidly a feel quite firm. The only issue I have can be seen in the pics, the extenders are perfectly flat yet the paddles are not, (hence the flimsy at first feeling) you can see there is space atop the paddle between the extender. This does not effect performance its purely cosmetic, I'm not complaining seeing how they were under $10 but if they were a bit better fitting possibly more ergonomically fit to the paddle I would gladly pay up to $50, after all they are going on a $100k+ vehicle Id definitely recommend them to anyone who uses the paddle shifters on their Merc and drives their road car at 10 & 2 They also come in blue and red anodized as well. Once the summer heat comes I will be interested in how they stick when the car is 130 inside and how hot they get with the sun beating down on them. I'll post updates... wanted to post and update as it is now 2022. they still work well no issues and have survived baking in the sun getting well over 135f degrees in the car. Ive actually considered changing them to the red anodized versions, however they are adhered so well in place Im concerned I'd break the factory part of the shifter before i could get the little adhesive strips to release. This being said, should I replace them with the red they will be from this same company!

Just buy it. It’s a great accessory and it makes the steering wheel look so much sportier. I went with the silver one since my wheel has silver accents and I’m glad I did, looks like it came with the car. Super easy to install, maybe took me 3 mins to do. I would wear gloves to use the little wipe it brings since it has a very strong paint odor, that can’t be good for your hands but besides that it’s 5 stars for me for sure. Hope this review helps.
